Hume-Mithra comparison o.O

Well I want to give FFXI another shot and the class I want to play is THF, specifically a hume, but uh...

I mean, I know you should pick the race you like the most but the difference between dex/agi with a mithra is a little extreme(total of 25 points dex/agi), don't you think? Maybe I should still pick hume but go with a job were it has some strengths, such as paladin or something... o.O

That's not taking into account gear and player skill, both of which really make more of a difference than base stats.

There are successful THF of all races. The stats really don't matter that much.

edit: I mean, yes, Mithra is the best THF stat-wise. What you have to figure out is how important that is to you.

But with that same logic could'nt the Mithra put on the exact same equiptment and still have that 25 point advantage?

Not racial specific equipment, but otherwise, yes.

But again, it's really more about the skill of the individual player more than it is the base stats for your race. Yes, Mithra will have the highest attributes for THF, but that doesn't mean that a Mithra is automatically a great THF. Your stats will certainly help, but they won't allow you to be a better player than you already are.

What is more important when choosing a race is that you choose the one you want to play. If that means choosing the race with particular base stats, then by all means, choose it. But if it means choosing the race that you most want to play, then that should be pretty obvious.

Those stats are incorect anyway. The max DEX a Mithra THF gets at 75 is 80 I believe. The stat calc you used does not take into effect the change in stat increase rate after lvl 60.

You got your main stats quite a lot off from what they actually are, here you have the correct stats.

doesn't 82-74=8? :x so the difference in dex is 8 not 6.

I honestly have no clue why I wrote 15 to be honest seriously it is normal addition I do it in my sleep dangit (well technically I did it while being barely awake so maybe I cannot do it while asleep after all)
Ah well all good he he, the simplest mistakes makes for the most fun for others (although ie is a quite embarresing to do it wrong when you try and correct yourself )

Oh, thats weird, I got my base statistics from the characters from allakhazam, the character search, found a mithra and a hume, both 75.

Not really. Those stats in which you gave are the same as the FFXI stats calculator stats, which is inaccurate in the later levels.
