Why is everyone's sharkbite so low? Mine was doing 1500+ and then the same 1500+ from light last night. This was in um Mamook fighting those cocks. (I forgot the name now, Zizs or something?)

One reason i can think of based on assumption is the mithra stat bonus you gots :X hehe that and/or the bard and cors in the party aswell. Along with different food other than squid/sole sushi nq/+1?
Edit: Also weapon type resitance/weakness modifers vs the mob?

Party did have a brd helping me out, I was /war (I have given up on /nin now, seriously it blows) and yellow curry was the food.

15-17% TP return for DE? I mean I've gotten 15% but it was on rare occassions, and 17% I've never seen. How do you get that type of TP? Because of low delay on your sub weapon or something?

I think I swapped from Hornetneedle to Garuda's Dagger.

hmm, i think we should compare notes, i.e. natural stats with equip before food use :X
Then make a log of dmg and tp returns from using SA/TA WS

I will write down my stats and gear later then, I can't make logs cause I play ps2. I don't have a digital camera or camera phone either >< Next party I get I can write down the info for a few fights if you want though?

I believe its Critical hit, not sure if its triple-atk kicking in?

Try using dex rings if you aren't already, they've given me 15s more often than without.

here is the fun thing about TP returns on DE.

The initial hit will almost always be 5%. Every 'main hand' hit after that, is an additional 1%. When /nin, your off-hand will land almost always for 5%. Also, any triple attack will add 1% for each (sucessful) hit.

Max DE return /nin: (5+1+1+1+1 (+1+1)) + (5+1+1) = 18% [assuming tripple attack on both main and off-hand. highly unlikely, i might add).

"Average" DE Return /nin: (5+1+1+1+1) +5 = 14%

(forgot to mention, that if you are off-handing a sword of some type, you might be able to score the second hit for 6%, becuse of the higher delay.)

Actually, with the Tp floor changes, my average TP gain from main and off hand is 9%, so the full return is 13. There are things you need to factor in, such as Suppanomimi, while Haste gear does not effect the amount of TP you get from a successful hit.

yea, most of my DE returns are usually 9-13%, majority being 11% with some of the new gear i gotten that you guys recommended.
Side note, highest i've ever gotten in bibiki's dhamel for shark bite was 1056 yesterday @.@ SATA though.

17% DE return is essentially impossible without Samurai Roll.

First of all: the maximum number of hits you can get on a WS is 8, which means that the maximum TP return you can get on a "normal" DE (assuming that it's even possible for 2A/3A to trigger multiple times on the same WS) is in the ~16% range (5+1+1+1+1+5+1+1). And even to get that number, you'd need daggers with a total combined delay (pre-DW) of 395... not exactly burning the house down with your speed.

Let's look at what you would need in order to get a 17% DE without Samurai Roll. We'll assume you have Rajas Ring, Brutal Earring, Chivalrous Chain (total: Store TP+8) and are not using a Suppanomimi.

17% = 5.5 + 5.5 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1
5.1 * 1.08 = 5.50... you need at least 5.1 base TP per hit
5.1 base TP per hit = 185 net delay per hit
185 * 2 = 370
370 / 0.85 (DW2 coefficient) = 435.2 = 436 total weapon delay needed

At this point, some of the more intrepid readers may realize that (outside of a stage-1 relic dagger) there is no currently existing dagger combo that can allow you to reach this goal. Even dual harpes are too slow.

17% DE is a pipe dream unless you have a Corsair in PT.

Some soloing on DC lesser coliberi in the thickets and I've manage to pull off a SA Hide DE close to breaking my record on them from exp a while back in the 60's. (5 points below it). Off course cause of those things insane ACC o.O and food stealing i had to mix and match my ws and dd gear, lol. Mostly War gloves, venerer ring, shikaree ring, drone earring x2, blue cotahardie. Also off hand was my cermet sword, main hoplites harpe. Most of the tp returns was max as possible w/o sam roll

Use Atk earrings either full time, or for SAWS. No reason to have Drone Earrings on during an SA WS ;p
