    Re: Thief Food

I've always wanted to try red curry, but I know that as soon as I do something stupid will happen like a link and I'll die and that will be 100k+ down the shitter.

      At 25?

      Use Rice Dumplings.

Don't use *anything* else besides Rice dumplings.

You can use Rice Dumplings all the way to 50 and it will be better then any other food hands down until then. If you fight a mob you can't hit while using decent gear and rice dumplings, it means you shouldn't be fighting them. IT+++ mobs are NOT good exp. Post 30 you don't need +hp. If you get hit as a thf, you're not doing your job. When you pull the mob shouldn't even be able to swing at you, let alone hit, and during the fight anything you do should be blamed on the tank, a properly equiuped trick buddy melee or that Rdm/Brd/Pup who just won't get the hell out of the way.

You need Att just as much as you need Acc during TP gain. You get no TP hitting for 0, and as a thf you *can* do 20+ a swing with decent gear.

Correct, however, Rice Dumplings are somewhat pricey (40k/stack last time I checked). Meat Jerky should do a great job until around L30 and it costs almost nothing when bought from the inn in Sandy.

Well if you're going for cheap in your mid 20s then Dhamel meats are the best bang for your buck. They give a much higher Att boost at those lvls and a steak costs at most 3k for a 3 hour food.

            Re: Thief Food

Personally i used Meat Jerky up til 30, post 30 if i cap out my atk, i use up the rest of my jerky, go to windurst waters, and get dhamel steak for 1.7K. Then i either use rice dumplings or stick with the steak until maybe 50 depending on the mob

At level 25 thf gets hit a lot. No trick attack and chances are the tank sucks at the level. Thf does a 200+ SA FB or SA Combo and ususally gets beat on for awhile.

why not get hit on purpose? if you don't get hit, then you obviously don't get to skill up your evasion, i usually got hit on purpose, now i'm very close to capping my evasion, no problem there. If you don't get hit (which is the "proper" way) then you thfs are gonna cry and complain why your evasion isn't capped or high enough level.

Getting hit on purpose goes against what a good party should be. The tank should be tanking, anyone else getting hate should not take damage, as this would take MP away from the mages to cure a non-tank. If you want to level evasion, a tanking job is the best way to do this.

Foodwise. I did mithkabob/dumpling till 30, squid sushi from 30-60, now at 60 i use Sole Sushi for dancing edge. Come Shark Bite, i may keep with sole. (64Thief)

i get what you mean about the evasion, i did it, who cares, but then again i did it because i was in a set pt from 53-68 so they didn't care ;p but yea i don't get hit on purpose when i exp/merit now, and i'm too cheap to afford nin anyways, but selling all my thf gear could give me some good amount of gil.

side note, yea stay w/ sole w/ shark bite since the modifiers are str and dex.

                      Re: Thief Food

My evasion sucked for a long time. At level 61 I went to Kuftal /war put on defender and ate def+ food and just let crabs beat me while I shot bloody bolts to prolong the fight. Zone when about to die. Got my evasion from 146-198 in 2 days. Gonna do it again in the tree with steelshells to recap evasion before Maat.
