My DE sucks

I used the search function and couldn't find what I was looking for.
Ok so I got level 60 last night and learned DE, I was really excited. However, I only did 600-750 damage. People said try changing around acc and dex/agi gear, but I couldn't find a happy medium. Here's a list of my most useful gear, please help me out with what you suggest would be a good medium for the acc part/dex&agi part.
ACC: +42 (47 if using CCB+2)

There are more items for each of these (acc/dex/agi) but those are the big number items.
Would you suggest acc or att food for it?
I used to use att food, since I always got 100+ tp per min anyway, and I liked 700-800 damage VBs more than 600 damage ones.

Basically DE sucks till about lv65 then you start doing real dmg. Its not so bad in the Valley of Sorrows on those big birds(exp sucks at 60 tho) but it really does suck on Toramas in Onzozo, they have some mad def/evasion indeed.

Im not entirely sure weather its the mobs your fighting at that lv, or you Dex/Str rising and ur acc being better, I just noticed a leap of about 200Dmg about that lv and other thfs I had talked to had told me to wait till then as well.

Thats how I felt about it but when I got it I noticed its just not that much better than Viper Bite at 60 Still looks so much cooler altho Viper can still out dmg it o.O

That sounds about right to me.
your gear is good stuff.
when you're using VB in the mid 40s and 50s where you can put up big numbers, you're probably fighting some lower def. mobs. flies, bats, spiders, crawlers for the most part.

what mobs were you fighting at 60?

DE has higher potential dmg i believe, but it'll soon be overshadowed once you get sharkbite.

Sharkbite really sucks unless your doing light skillchain. I got to use it in 3 parties from 66-71. Sucked

You're acc seems to be pretty damn amazing without food so Id go with atk food and see if that produces more dmg. My acc was never that high but I hit all 5 hits most of the time. Fraid I never fought the raptors so I dunno bout their def. Try atk food and apart from that I cant see nething else you could be doing wrong, your equip is amazing.

I shall keep experimenting with everything to see what works best, but if it doesn't do a lot till higher levels anyway I'm not as worried as I was. Thank you for the gear compliments lol

i use sole sushis, at those levels i was dishing out the same amt of dmg, sole sushi will give you +6 str/dex, so that would help, so that would be +32 dex for you after food, tbh, i'd sgree w/ the other poster and go w/ yellow curry or something over sole sushi. Your gear is perfect for that level, much better than mine i might add (i only have +35 acc no snipers etc.) I don't miss at all. Just switch all your acc gear to your +dex gear, and concentrate on full dex for DE because sadly thanks to the cotehardies, you'll have -CHR which is a DE modifier, Later levels when you're rocking heca gear, you'll be happy, thanks to sole sushi i roll w/ +27str and +41dex as thf/nin (heca boots only so far) and i barely notice a difference in my SATA, and i only have +10 agi, you'll definitely hit harder w/ more str even though it's not a DE modifier, get yourself a heart snatcher at later level, merit crits, your DEs are just gonna piss people off, you fully crit DE hits you'll do well over 2k dmg.

So I partied today for a bit in VoS again, still level 60, no gear changes used sole sushi and was doing 800 with it. Idk what happened with the party the other day. This one had a brd, but I doubt brd would increase damage by 300. Going to use curry in next pt and I'll report back to you guys.

I never actually quit Nitsuki, I just had to stop playing for months at a time a few times. (Broken ps2, parents took away FFXI from shitty grades etc) I've been playing since NA Beta and my highest job is 60 THF orz

Your stats are incredible.
But I'm actually curious to know what dagger you're wielding and what kind of food you're eating. This kinda helped me out a great deal when I was fighting things in cape terrigan.

Most people thought I was crazy to eat meat while fighting things with high defense instead of sushi, but I found that me boosting ATT (since my ACC was high enough to TP every 45 seconds or so) really helped out a great deal with SATA WS combo, especially since most monsters have high defense in that area.

DE is affected slightly by CHR (seems difference is made by ever 2 points). SATA DE Damage is also caclulated slightly through STR, directly through DEX and and AGI, but mostly through ATT and Main Weapon base damage.

I'd suggest if you aren't hitting the numbers that you want, try to grab some Attack + gear and foods and watch your range increase. It actually works well against monsters with low evasion but high defense.

Daggers are darksteel kukri+1 main and Hornetneedle sub, gonna change Hornetneedle at 61 for that rng acc+ dagger I think.
