  • Farming Vs. NM Camping

    Hello!

I'd like everyone's opinion who has leveled THF up to TH2. I've been wondering. I'm a 57 THF atm with the best gear you can get at this point of the game. The price of bloods though has dropped in my server from 250k to 110k, which is a great disapointment.

I farm when I'm not seeking in Pashhow Marshlands, but sometimes, even Darksday Full Moon (100 percent) it goes incredibly slow.

However, I hear people getting rich quick by camping NMs, but with NMs like Torrent, Deggi, and Domi it's all luck based since TH2 doesn't work on these NMs.

Farming gold beastcoins is too slow for me (lol). I've tried this on several occasions, 1 beastcoin ever 20 minutes or so, just because of the wait time on Hide and Steal.

    So what do you guys recommend, NM camping, or farming? I've got the patience for camping NMs, its just the great sadness that comes along getting claim and no drop after standing there for 3 or so hours, not to mention the bots and RMTs in these areas. ; ;

I prefer pure farming. Mainly because your guarenteed some drops. Whereas NMs drop whenever the hell they want, when you can claim it.

I agree. with the amount of NM claiming bots these days it's not worth the trouble competing....

Bots aside, something that produces a steady income is preferable to something that is likely to leave you with nothing after hours of work. If you're very lucky, you can get rich quick off NMs, but in all likelyhood you will not.

One of the few get rich quick things that you can do are Manaburn BCNMs that many servers offer. You bring in your Kindred Seals depending on what BCNM they offer, get the right orb, show up, they manaburn the BCNM, you lot on all the drops, and then depending on the worth, you give them a % cut of that money. I would easily get 5+ million per run and on a really good day 10+ million. Getting the Kindred Seals is what takes time though, so its not like I can do the Manaburn option every week.

Honestly I dunno if this gunna be around after the 20th since the developers said they didnt like manaburn and they were planning on changing that somehow.

With other options, I make a few hundred k on the side from time to time with certain CoP quest items that are AH sellable, but this has dropped recently since there is a mad rush to get CoP done for those end game earrings so more people are discovering the quest.

Farming I mostly do for crafting these days, which I sell the extra for some small return. Example: Ill farm beehive chips, slime oil, etc to make Silent Oils. HQ a bunch for myself, and sell the rest. Same with Shihei, fish the Nebs, buy the logs in Tavnazia, make everything myself, HQ on best possible day, stack them with the NPC and sell what I dont need.

With that in mind, farming for needed crafting items can always bring in steady cash. Pot & goem shards, ores, etc... check your local AH to see whats needed.

ENMs... get some friends together and do these every week. Its a win-win regardless because even if you dont get good drops you get EXP.

NMs... Ive completely given up on these for two reasons... bots (as stated) and RMTs. Because of SE tightening the ability for people to just camp an NM and make tons of money, RMTs are now reduced to trying to jack prices on even the smallest of items. Example: RMTs on Garuda are now camping the Gusgen ghost NMs...

Other options are to join a LS that does BCNMs, ENMs, or NMs that you can pop for high priced items. Example... Tatami Shield.

I use to fish Devil Mantas, but even that has become such a pain. You show up to fish with 1-2 RMTs there and within 30 min 3-4 more will arrive to outfish you until you leave, having wasted time.

Stealing beast coins is still profitable. Get yourself an NPC pearl, get a few friends together and go kill mobs that you can steal coins from. You get EXP and you get to level your NPC who can cure & buff you.

Another option is kill coffer mobs that drop items that still sell for a good price on the AH. I cant list em all and you need to do your research anyway.

Oh hey another Remorian here! /wave Gullywing
Well, sadly all the camping I've had it up to my necks in crap, that I don't even bother to do. One of our thief's recently got a Thief's Knife and out pulled a Gil Seller that was camping there, she was quite happy, though she quickly switched to her whm and start leveling her for PM.

I have been killing stuff in Boyada Tree to level my NPC & getting webs. But that's just my personal preference. Sometimes I'm in quicksand caves farming up antican pauldrons and I desynth those. Tonberry's also drop gold coins as well as you can steal from them. They also drop coats which you can desynth those as well. I think I notice a pattern of desynthing somewhere here.

gobbies been my best friends. ambushers drop (i.e. bleed in certain places) animal glue and goblin masks. i can desynth masks into glass fibers. 34k a stack for glue, 40k a stack of fibers.

Hmm, try to see if you can farm mobs that drop both good regular drops, and give exp so you can get beastmen/kindred seals. BCs are a very good source of income, and depending on which one you choose to do, it can be a steady flow of gil or now and then a large chunk of gil. For example, with BC 40 you can either have a steady ~1 mil income for each run, or a small chance at a ~15 mil drop (prices vary between servers.) KS30 and KS99 runs can also bring in a good amount of gil, though at your level, you probably wont be able to complete these unless you hire others to do them for you, as they were designed for pts/alliances lv 70-75s.

                    Re: Farming Vs. NM Camping

I try to find an area where I can farm profitably between pops, I find that NMs that drop less valuable items to be more fun, but it IS hard to resist the 20+ million gil NMs.

Find what works best for the ammount of time you have to offer the game.
