macro help

i'm writing a thread about macro's, and i'm doing the thief macro's next. what advice do you give?

i noticed there aren't many threads about thief macro's. i think that's because thief macros are reletively easy compared to some of the other jobs. give me a hand and tell me your tricks i'd much appreciate it

The one thing I remember, and its as much job advice as macro advice, is to activate SATA before you pull. Either make it a separate macro or have it in right before you give the party chat and use /ra. Activating it mid pull slows you down and can lead to you getting your ass kicked all the way back to camp. The only exceptions I can think of are 1. exceptionally long pulls when it will take longer than a minute (or do they only last 30 secs, I can't remember) or so to get it back to camp and set up SATA. and 2. when you're going to open with a SC and you need to time it better than activating, then engaging and ws'ing before you make a normal hit.

iv'e reached a point where i don't prime my sata before i pull anymore. i used to up till about the mid-40's when i started to notice the battles were getting shorter. i realized they were going a lot smoother when i would just land one careful sata-ws-sc-mb to start the fight, rather than trying for a primed normal sata then sata-ws-sc-mb right after. sometimes the battled don't even last for 30 seconds, let alone 50
before level 40-45 ish though, i agree. hit your sneak attack/sata macro before you pull.

instead of having a macro for SA+WS SATA+WS and SATA just make a macro for SA a macro for TA and a macro for WS and learn to use them all seperately... it allows for way more versatility.
