<.< that brady strategy guide was garbage. i own one. it suggested galka as the best race for summoner because you get high hp and vitality(yes, you heard me right)... now don't get me wrong, a galka can be just as good of a summoner as any other race, but not because of their high hp and vit (when are you gonna get hit as a smn, anyway?) and it said that ninja/thief was a good combo (fyi, if you are a nin/thf, you might as well be a nin/no sj, cuz you can't tank as a nin/thf...) and lets not even go into their suggestion about war/whm XP

the people who wrote that guide had no idea what they were talking about when they wrote it. i think they listened to the worst dunes n00bs for their advise on job combos...

Aegina, has it occured to you that the game probably changed since the Brady Guide came out? I do hope that they release an updated version of it with the expansion but that probably won't happen.

Yes i own a Brady Stragey guide, no i don't usually use it. As it is outdated but i don't think that it was neccssarly bad when it first came out.

Even when the game satrted it was crap... They released one update in Spring '04 and it stopped there. It was never a good guide.

heh, some of the stuff they recomend in there are down right stupid. some of the stuff i can see as having been useful when the game first came out... but not all.

like when they suggest a good way to farm gil is to create a massive alliance and go kill beastmen by the hundred, so everybody gets gil for everybody else's kill. that may have been a good suggestion back before the economy went nutso.

but some- no, make that most- of their job combo suggestions are... absolutely wrong. like suggesting galka is the best summoner because he has the highest vitality? i don't think so...
(disclaimer, galkas make fine summoners, but not because of their vitality. summoners don't use vitality much...)

i use mine as a crafting guide. i scratched out the incorrect recipies and wrote in some new ones that have come out since it was made. i also use it to guide me through some of the quests in the game. the guide does have its uses... but not many. these boards are much more accurate. they change as the game does.

when ninja first came out, for a month or 2, japanese players also played as nin/thf too.
I had a friend who played nin/thf until 70, within 2 weeks after zilart release. (no NA yet)
I guess for brady guide that got even less time to play the game, that suggestion was understandable. It took around 2 months before utsusemi become well-known as THE tanking spell.

but galka for smn, meh.
