Thf was my first job. I had both Sword and Grapples skilled for my PTs as well as mnk and war subs availiable(ninja didnt exist at the time.) Once i hit 32 I went out and solo skilled dagger as high as i could and at 33 switched to dagger, and got the 1 skill since 32 is capped at 99 for viper. So using grapples and/or sword is viable your first time through =P
