  • Fuidama Questions

    I know you guys must be sick of my questions, but I have a few more:

    1. When you fuidama do you take the hate from SA and not TA, or does the whole damage get converted into TA form?

    2. Does TA deal as much damage as SA by itself, when it hits? If so, does that mean the damage is doubled when you stack them?

    3. Is TA also determined on DEX, or is there a different stat; also does the chance of TA stricking determine your own accuracy, or is it boosted in some way?

    4. Has anyone figured out the SATA formula when it comes to your STR, DEX, *insert other modifiers here* and the mobs VIT and such; including the random effect SE likes to add in?

    5. After obtaining both of these great abilities (SATA) would it be an unwise decision to use them seperately before obtaining the other awsome ability, Assassin?

    6. If you were to fuidama, would it be a for sure hit? Or is it possible that TA damage won't take effect and only SA can, making it so the mob recieve only SA damage?

    I'm sure these questions have been answered before, but I couldn't find the answers here or at allakhazam. If you know of some forums you can add links or if anyone has any personal experiences, I'd love to see those as well. I really appriciate any replies. (^_^) b

    When TA is used, the next attack's hate will ALWAYS be put on the person directly in front of you. The next attack can be any combination like SA+WS, just WS, or just SA. All of the above will be "stacked" with TA and a little bit better damage will ensue when each is "stacked" with it. The main point to remember is that TA does hardly any damage by itself, it truly shines when stacked like SATA+WS, or just SATA.

    TA does not deal as much damage as SA by itself. It does do a little bit more damage than a regular attack, but not much. I hear the damage is increased a little bit with the assassin job trait, although I'm not quite sure(not 60+ yet ^^).

    TA is determined on AGI instead of DEX. The way I see it, damage for TA is more like (Normal_DMG_ATK + AGI = TA DMG)...don't quote me on the formula. It doesn't have a "multiplier" effect like DEX has for SA though, its more of a "additive" effect. EDIT: I also forgot to say, that TA is not a gauranteed hit. Just off personal experience I would say TA has about the same accuracy as a normal swing. That's why we like to stack TA with a gauranteed hit when standing behind the mob: SA.

    There are some places with things like SATA calculators, but they have been found to be buggy. Try searching I believe this formula would be easy to find on this site somewhere, unfortunately I do not have the formula offhand ; ;

    Once again, I'm not level 60+ yet, but from what I've been hearing the smartest way to use SATA after obtaining Assassin is to use SATA at the beginning of the battle as normal (and also use SATAWS as normal). On the occasion where your timers are ready and the mob isnt turning use TA once on the tank, then go use SA separately behind the mob. I would like to test this myself to see effectiveness first, but this is what other posters have been saying.

    That's the nice thing about TA, its basically just a buff. TA alone can miss, but when used in conjunction with SA(which NEVER misses) and in the correct party formation...Fuidama will NEVER miss. If you miss, it is ALWAYS a misplaced party member, or somebody moving too early.

      I don't know if that site is correct or not, but that's the formula for SATA damage I've heard the most. (Try clicking the link at the bottom as well (the back to link), then click on English. It's a useful site for thief stuff). According to that site, both Sneak and Trick attack are multipliers, one based on Dex and the other Agi. Since I was only a level 30+ thief for about 10 minutes in the beta, I can't really say much from experience. All I know is that the one time I did Trick Attack it did almost no more damage than a normal hit does. I think it probably just seems less powerful than Sneak Attack because Sneak Attack is always a critical.

      Other than that Typho answered everything just like I would have. And he might be right about the damage formula as well, I can't tell since I can't test Trick Attack.

        I think he hit it right on the head. I find it best to use SATA at beginning and then if the mob has ~1/4 to 1/3 hp left i use TA then SA if the timers are ready. So thats 3 SA/TAs per battle but its usually very fast since you activate SATA before the pull then put it on tank, WS very shortly after unless you had TP for start then SATA to kill it.

        Also with the Assassin trait TA is never-miss. Without Assassin i did like 75 damage with TA alone
