How often do you crit? (non sneak/trick)

Hello! I'm mainly asking mid-lvl thieves 40-55, but anyone can answer. Just give your level, race, and dex+ total. A percentage of normal hits vs crits would be cool. Example: 70% Normal, 30% Crit. Players using parser logs are most welcome =D

Just trying to get a feel on "how much" hi dex effects your critical hit rate. I'm a Mithra War, trying to see if investing in Dex is at all worth it compared to concentrating on Str+, Att+ and Acc+ alone.

Applepie has a lot of very nice parsings of his parties and can probably get you the most accurate results. Would be nice to see the crit rates of some of the thfs he has partied with. He's posted a lot of screenshots of the results before, might be some in the rdm forums if you look around.

Heya, 62 thief with about 96 dex....

I parse my fights and I have about a 14-15% crit percentage, although that figure does include sneak attacks. However, I really only SA once per xp mob generally, as I start the fight with it, then use DE for my second santa attack. So I dunno, maybe 12.5%?

Critical Rates

Here are a few of my parser logs, unfortunately there is no way I can seperate the criticals done by regular attacks and criticals done through SA use.

Log1 = 8.91% (345 Crits out of 142 Fights)
Log2 = 8.55% (165 Crits out of 64 Fights)
Log3 = 7.97% (146 Crits out of 57 Fights)
Log4 = 8.85% (149 Crits out of 58 Fights)
Log5 = 11.14% (86 Crits out of 41 Fights)
Log6 = 11.62% (337 Crits out of 197 Fights)
Log7 = 11.05% (186 Crits out of 102 Fights)
Log8 = 11.26% (139 Crits out of 76 Fights)

Logs 1-5 have me acting as THF, 6-8 have Chibimaru acting as THF. The only thing I could recommed is taking a look at the crit rates of the other melee and comparing them, with THF subbed you should be adding the SA crit in your calculations anyway.

I currently play a Mithra 72THF/36NIN, stats are sitting at 79DEX+35DEX for a normal SATA or SATA+WS (79DEX+50DEX if the BRD has time).

(Hmmm) thanks for the input ^^ Hi Dex yielding 8%-12% crit rates...

I'm actually at a lvl where I can sprinkle in many Dex+ equips w/o seriously gimping my Str+, Att+, and Acc+ as a Damage-Dealing War. I think I'm just gonna run with it =D
