  • New Evisceration Renkei

So Squeenix just announced that they are moving around evisceration on the renkei chart...Finally we'll be able to close light AND dark renkeis.

I know I'm not at shark bite yet, but this sounds pretty huge, especially in light of the primary thiefly complaint that drk's are more flexible than us in closing a level 3 renkei.
    You know I'm right.

Not 100% chance of us getting to do dark renei, but we'll see.
    Warning level cat face.

I don't know... as I've said in another thread on another part of the forum, I'm biased, but unless THF lvl another weapon, (like DRK do) how is it fair that they get to close two different types of Renkai when DRK can't? (If they only lvl'd one?)

How is it fair that DRK has two A class weapons? Thief doesn't even have a B class secondary weapon.

Perhaps Thieves should get an -A in Sword, just as DRK get an -A in Greatsword. I'd have no problem with that. ...perhaps DRK could get a useful weapon skill before lvl 60? I just think it kind of sucks that SE seems to be trying to put all the jobs on equal footing in the high lvls, rather than putting them on equal footing all througout.

I agree with Omena, if you want us to have to lvl two different weapons for dark and light renakis, give us another B+ through A+ weapon.

But seeing how you guys have more base damage without SATA+WS included, no contest, where is the fairness in that? That's another counter to why we should be able to with one weapon. Since you can close 2 renaki and deal more base damage, maybe we should be able to close both light and dark with one weapon as a counter balance.
ANYWAY BIG BEN THINK LIKE THIS ITS LIKE HEY GUYS WHY BE RACIST?? 1) GS WS Ground Strike is both on the light and dark side of the skill chart. How is that fair?

                2) Several weapons have different WSs on different sides. Infact, the only jobs I can think of that aren't on both sides of the chart are THF and RNG (though if Evisceration is changed to dark element, then that's fixed). How is it fair to cripple them like that?

Though if Evisceration is changed to the Dark side, Ninjas can't participate in a light skillchain. But since when were NINs not dark?

                3) DRKs do get useful WSs pre-60. Sturmwind with Great Axe (lv25), and Rampage with Axe (lv56).

how is it fair that the only way drk's can get pt invites is to sub thf? how come thiefs stop getting pt invites 60+ because drk's can sub thf and supposedly "do more damage" on a ws. Shrug should stfu and leave us our ws. thx, c u thf wannabe~

I'm pretty sure Ground Strike is the quested Great Sword weapon skill. Also, I've been told that unless charged up quite a bit higher than 100% Tp, that it does less damage.

I don't think it's fair DRK's have to sub THF to get invites, lord knows I never wanted to lvl THF, but I've done it, and now I see no reason not to embrace it; it's pretty damn good.

The Greataxe and Axe thing is true, though it's pretty damn hard to keep three weapons lvl'd. That's more of a player issue than a balance issue.

I've got Crossreaper, and I've never seen it hit higher than 500 on an exp mob. SATA Dancining edge and Sharkbite did a bit more, and did it consistantly. Without /thf, our weapon skills don't hit that hard nearly as often, not to mention they can just miss outright.
