New Crossbows

I noticed a footnote about thieves getting to use some crossbows and ammunition.

Anything useful/interesting?

I looked around in game for a crossbow for my thief, hoping to level my Marksmenship (however you spell that). We can't use the really low level stuff, like the Light Crossbow and normal Bolts, but we can use the next step up. The lowest level Crossbow that Thieves can use (that I found) is the bastok conquest one, we can also use quite a few other ones as well (the next few crossbows up, I'm not sure about really high levels).

About the bolts, we can't use the normal ones, but according to some people I talked to, we can use the lowest level status bolts. Like Sleep and Acid bolts. Which is very cool and all, since Sleep bolts would probably be my top choice in bolts to use, it will make it really hard for me to level my Marksmenship skill =l. I think I'll just level my warrior up some and the low level bolts untill I have enough skill to not mind wasting Sleep bolts every shot.

Anyway, sorry I can't tell you about the higher level stuff, I just looked for ones I could use right now. At level 20.

I'm not sure whats up with this but some guy on my server, Carbuncle, is lvl 75 THF/NIN and is using a Flaggelant's Crossbow.
I'm not sure of the stats on it but the only jobs that can use it are WAR/DRK/RNG...

I'm currently using the velocity bow and lemme tell ya...that thing is fast. the atk is a tad bit lower than the heavy crossbow, but the speed is great for pulling and/or skilling up ^^

I currently use venom bolts since they're the cheapest (on midgard a stack can go for 1000-1500)

Since I level Marksmenship from 34 to 159 in 2 days D;. I am very very glad I did level it. Mainly becuase I get to use Slug Shot in 16 levels and becuase of the HP Bolts :D :D :D :D :D. If i'm farming in Oz or where ever I can just regain HP back from the bolts. Becuase my skill is so high I hardly miss (Taking 30-90HP from most mobs). I really do love using it and also becuase the Bolt stack is very cheap - around 2,800 maybe. I have yet to try sleep bolts. I do use Acid Bolts, but you can't really tell the difference in damage afterwards (my opinion), and poison/blind bolts are alright. Even though they do actually stick I can't tell a difference.

I also use gun quite frequently. The gun does pretty awesome damage. Maybe about 20-30 more than xbow. Not to sure about Bow becuase I dont use it. Even though there are about 2-3 guns that aren't very close to level 62 the gun is still a pretty good and fun to use.
