gold beastcoins

i remember there being a topic about this though half of it was an argument but what mobs (and where are they) do you steal these from again?

while hunting for a Beadeux coffer key,
i stole a few gold beastcoins from the same mobs that drop the key...
Sapphire, Ancient, and Darksteel Quadavs.

This was done as a MNK/THF so I'm assuming main THF's will have even more gain.

I was just in Beadaux(sp?) trying to steal the Quadav stew for my AF1, let me tell you i had to steal from about 50 easy prey quadav's before i was sucessful, but thats not the point i can steal from IT gobs and almost always be sucessful. I was wondering if you guys knew what stats effect steal rates, is it int? because my base int is higher than my base str so that makes me pretty sure to believe that int is the determining factor for stealing.
BTW at what level should i go to those places listed a few posts above to try and steal Gold beastcoins?

Let me summarize the next 5 or 10 posts:

1. Stealing is based on INT. That's why the thief hat gives INT!!!

2. That's rediculous. Taru Blm/Thf's do not have the best stealing rate in the game. Besides, everyone knows that DEX affects stealing.

3. Nuh-uh! AGI affects stealing. My friend's girlfriend's LSmate found this out.

4. You're all wrong. Stealing is affected by being behind the guy.

5. WTF are you talking about? You get the best steals when you're out of combat and stealing from the side.

6. I dunno, I always have good luck when the monster is aggroing me and below 10% hp.

7. You all are fools of the highest caliber. Its just based on your level vs the level of the thing you're stealing from.

In short....nobody knows what affects stealing.

Best time is when they are IT and you are solo, you have to hit them when they have there arm up to attack you, duh. they dont expect it one bit.

P.S My SAM AF helm gives MND and my Hunter's Beret gives INT TOO!

Hehehe, well I still dont know why I can steal sucessfully from IT's and it takes for ever for me to steal from easy prey's. Oh well one of the mysteries on FFXI that we will never figure out |-_-|

i believe drops r less often as u get higher in lvls.. if ur wanting items off easy prey and too weak to beworthwhile....than if they was DC to IT....i think thats right
