Hi,

I've recently been levelling a Thief job to be a farming agent for my red mage main job. I was wondering if anyone could actually quantify the effects of Treasure Hunter 1 for intrests sake?

Usually say Beehive Chips drop around 1 in 6 bee's or worse (or better very rarely). Can anyone indicate how much improvement it makes to drop rates of items?

I did search for information on this but couldn't find anything.

i read somewhere treasure hunter gives a 20% better drop rate and treasure hunter 2 gives a further 20% better drop rate.
i dont know if it's true or not.
treasure hunter definetly help's when farming though ,treasure hunter 2 is overrated.

with a lvl 7 thf subjob for my lv24 war, i could successfully farm 2 beehive chips in 1 hour....dont know if that's a lot compared to what you got, but i just thought i would share.

TH1 does make a difference with drops (more items), but TH2 makes an "OMG difference!!" with rare drops.

Helped some friend in Bubu get leeches for thier ruby. At level 35 we took about 45min to an hour of killing leeches (AOEing groups of leeches) for one ruby.
Once i hit 45 i helped a BLM friend get his ruby...took 10 leeches (group of 6, then a group of 4) and less than 2 minutes to get his ruby.

I helped soemone in Giddeus get his chest key for Khazam pass, took only 2 kills with TH2 to get chest key.

there is no real way to explain how good th is, just get it and then go farm with and without it, you'll see for yourself,

btw lvls 1-15 of theif SUCK!

Lv 7 THF yields no difference to loot than any of the lv's 1 to 14.

TH and TH2 drop rate increases aren't anywhere close to 20%. I'd say closer to 5 or 7, but I think even that might be way too high.

2% will make it worth it in the long run. Seriously for the amount of wax i get through 1% would be welcome.

20% is not a high percentage increase what's the normal drop rate on beehive chips for example maybe 1 in 3 if your lucky?
33.3% chance of drop + 40% from TH & TH2 = a whole 13.32% more chance of drop. is that really a high increase in drop rate ?

Beehive chips vary. Usually like 1 in 6.

from my experience TH does not effect drop of coffer/treasure chest keys.
TH1 seeems to be more useful when your main is THF and doesnt help much on rare items, only helps on normal drops.
TH2 seems to help on rare items. On an average session of xp'ing in kuftal on crabs. With a thief i get about 5 HQ shells and without a thief i get none.

don't be lazy, get a real sub for your theif, lvling a war or monk to 6 takes what 2, 3 hours?

Rdm is a better sub for doing 1-15 than war. Dia/paralyze help a lot.

Still sucks, but sucks a little less.

Not sure I appreciate the tone of the comment but yes your correct it probably would of been better to level a monk to 7 then do my thief.

But I did not think and also didn't fancy levelling hand to hand weapons when I could just have dagger and sword maxed.

Moot point since i'm almost done with THF now

as someone mentioned earlier, farm with TH1 or 2 and then try farming without TH and you will notice a difference. it's hard to pin an exact number to how much it helps as a lot of it depends on how rare the drop is etc.
