The price is insane for it on Bahamut server. 50k!
On Rag it's 40k-60k, wanted it for 40 but it changed to 60 within that day :\ . Anywho, in this topic of flames didn't someone say Rogue Ring had latent effect? Otherwise means 3/4 to red health to have it work. But I would like to know the % on if you equip one rather than not

after all that flaming i think it's incredible that ppl haven't noticed that they're talking about RARE instead of EX..

Rare = rare drop / less chance to drop
Ex = Exceptional or Extraordinary or whatever, i don't remember what it stands for, but EX = 1 item at a time..

did noone notice they got mixed up?

            I think you're wrong;

Rare = 1 item at a time. (Has nothing to do with the chances to drop, usually)
Ex = Cannot be traded / Sold in AH.

Indeed, you may hold only one of a "Rare" item (Spirit Pacts). You may hold as many as you can carry of an "EX" item (Pirahna Shield) but you may not trade it or sell it at AH. You may sell some Rare/EX items to an npc (Scorpion Stinger, Orcish Axe).

                  LOL

I'd just like to thank everyone involved in this thread for making my last hour exceptionally enjoyable. But really, none of this would have been possible without JD, so an extra special shout-out goes out to that hilariously unashamed liar.

But actually, I do have a somewhat relevant question that I'm hoping the experienced thieves could answer for me. I'm a level 42 thief and I've been trying my hand at mining Ifrit's Cauldron. (rather unimpressed w/ the returns so far, but I digress). So needless to say, I'm in invis/sneak mode most of the time.

when I do get near a zone, I'll go steal real quick. So there's some very strong gobbos near the zone (alchemist and shepherd, specifically) and twice now I've tried to steal from them. Both times I've succeeded. My reward: A beastcoin. Not silver. not mythril, not gold. a regular beastcoin. 90 gil. hell, I MUGGED them for almost that much.

All I can think of is that Square set it up so that really weak thieves couldn't run up to something rediculously powerful and steal loot that's too advanced for them. My question is: am I right, or do shepherds and alchemists really just carry regular coins?
                  You know I'm right.

It's funny how the "liar" part still comes back after what? Four weeks I think. Well kids will be kids I guess. I take a bow to what you said and not a thank you. •³?H‚炦?`?I

And you just got lucky by stealing 2/2 times from such a high up monster and getting a gold coin. SEX didn't set jack up for thieves, thieves can still get hit and die after stealing from a monster with flee, hide, and maybe blink on.

You still get lucky by stealing twice in a row, no matter what item it is. Even if you were to go steal from Smithy's and tried 4 times, I bet you would have gotten 1 or maybe 2 coins (without ring or glove...or af). And.........actually I did read his post about 5 times to see what coin it was and still got it wrong .

Wow, I come looking for gold beastcoin information and get 7 pages of worthlessness.

Anyway, which beastmen do you guys think is best to attempt gold coin stealing from? I tried monastic cavern, but with hide not working I get a little nervous. Is castle Oztroja better?

If you are going to steal from monastic, do it near zone line. Orcs pick up scent. If you are going to hide from them, make sure you are of a certain distance from them. Hide does work on orcs only if they are far away to miss your smell.

Oztroja is a good place to steal and hide will work 95% of the time on yagudoes. There are however the 5% you should take note of.

                              - When stealing from magic casting mob, make sure you use hide way before they finish casting or after they finish casting. If you hide at the point just before they finish casting, your hide will be gone instantly. If you are hit with sleep, do not panic and wait till you wake up to cast hide. Of cos, pray that while you are sleeping that he does not cast lvl 4 spell or lvl 3 -ga spell on you.
                              - When stealing take note of the mobs melee attack. If you are hit at a precise timing just after you cast hide, your hide will be gone as well. Highly possible when a mob executes double attack or mnk type mob like Yagudo Flagellant who can usually hit up to 3~4 times per attack.
                              - When stealing from Assassin (nin type) Be very very very careful of him. He hits fast, he has lvl2 ninjutsu and he can cast paralysis on you in less just 1.5 secs. When stealing from assassin, be sure to either hide immediately after you steal or after he finish his first ninjutsu. BUT, if you allow him to cast paralysis on you, good luck to you. When your hide fails from paralysis, it is taken that you have used hide meaning you will not be able to hide for the next 5mins. Be very very careful of this.
                              - It does not mean that if your is removed from the first 2 scenario, you are going to die. Hide resets hate. Even though he may have hit you in hide state and removed your hide, it does not necessarily means he has aggroed you so long as you are not in his sight. Happens to me many times when i am freaking lucky.

If your primary role is solely on stealing gold coins only, i would suggest quicksand. Heard that the sahagins in sea grottos are easy to steal from. I have tried stealing from them before and they do seems easier to steal from. But the one and only zone line in sea grotto that is near to a high lvl mob with gold coins is pass the ornamental door which requires a special key to unlock.
