    Re: SMN not a main?

Rydia was a SMN/BLM by the end >_> (a very powerful one at that, and Yuna was the most damaging character in th game if you got the Magus Sisters)

If SMN could rest MP while avatars were out (or SE just eliminate perp cost altogether) that'd be great. Seriously, avatars require a lot of maintenance for a disposable pet...

I gotta admit removeing the prep cost would be a great way to improve SMN.
But what about the items that have Prep -?
SE Would have to alter all of them too.

Not many ppl would care for Evokers ring without the Prep so it would need somthing like
Avatar Acc+5 or Avatar Dmg +10

The MP and Summoning skill on Evoker's Ring is also nice.

Aaliyah is more than a woman and she graduated with a 4.0 GPA (she only had 1 "C" grade ever in her life).

I bolded and underlined the "is" just for you, Malacite.

I dunno, I dont think that'll go away. it'd cause too many people to get mad if they took it away completely.

I think what they need to do is make ELEMENTAL SPIRITS free, or at least free in the same sense as carbuncle: with the right equipment. They seem like such an underused side to our job that could potentially be so useful. Imagine leaving your dark or light spirit out inbetween avatars. Even if they only cast one or two spells between bloodpacts while they're out, it'd still be pretty neat.

Unfortunately, people probably would still expect us to keep the spirit on our spell list and not let us bring it out since it'd take away our natural refresh ability. :/ Though one thing tha tmight help that is if the spirits didnt give the monster TP..

            Re: SMN not a main?

Lately I'm finding myself losing faith in SE. I've been denying it for a long time, but the longer I play this game more I realize how un-final fantasy the game is.

It's almost as if SE just slapped the FF brand name on a game and threw out everything they got right from the offline games. Sure it's an MMO and as such certain things need to be kept in check (like job balance and money) but it wouldn't kill them either to take another look at what made the older games great.

If you've lost faith then just stop playing, for christ's sake.

I dunno about that, FF has always been about a group of people fighting together to acomplish something. The interaction between characters and how it affected the story is what made Final Fantasy games special to me, with gameplay serving as the medium to get from one point of the plot to the other.

Problem is having that kind of interaction with other players in a MMOG can be quite difficult, which is why I started losing interest on the game like 6 months ago as most of my friends in Fenrir either quit the game or didn't have time for me (/wrists).

Now that I moved to Kujata I've started to like the game again, but maybe that's due to the ocasional Mhurron and Sev MPKing. Watching Sev DIAF can make anyone feel a lot better about the game.

But I digress, maybe that has nothing to do with your situation.

                  Re: SMN not a main?

Seems like since forever they delay their efforts so that you can keep waiting for them meaning you'll still be playing. Although, you don't necessarily have to play to wait, but most people are doing it anyway since they still enjoy the game.

                    Re: SMN not a main?

Pretty much. Over all I enjoy SE's games, but there always seems to be that one (in the case of XI, many) catch-22's that develop into this love-hate relationship.

On the one hand, I keep hoping SE will eventually get around to sorting out the various issues (job balance and play styles chiefly @- @) while it's frustrating waiting on it.

I mean come on, they released an incomplete job (SMN) and have been slow to adjust it ever since. It's a damn shame though and somewhat understandable as SMN's always been one of if not the strongest class in every FF it appears in. Summoning Magic is the king of all magic, and it's not easy to balance that in an MMO ><
