  • Summoning Gil?

    Hi everyone

I am on the Bahamut server and lately Tele-Taxis have been over camped by Gil Sellers so wondering what ways is there to make money as a SMN?
I have 30 cooking skill at 9 fishing skill.... heh

Wondering if theres nething worth farming or what lvl would Cooking be profitable? I make Pineapple Juice at the moment but it doesn't sell well.....

    Any suggestions would be great!

    Thanks ^.^

Check FFXIah.com for what foods are sellable.

Meat jerky is sellable from an NPC is the only trouble so it may be a slow sell. If you bazar it inside the bastok tunnel it may go a little better.
The gillsellers have been trying to get money while waiting to get Sky access again after the last big purge. I'ld expect to see a lot of them transitioning in the lower niches (behive chips in gustaburge and Davio, Silk threads outside windurst, and even a few telebots, but I suspect they will be increasing their infestation in sky once they've had time to rebuild) some of the things they go after is also good for making gradual gil though.

Make insect paste sell for 1k buy a Holycon rod and make some insect paste and go to town on moat carp. Sell for 4k on Fairy and almost every server. Also since you're targeting moats...do the lu shang rod quest and sell your lu shang...it used to go for 5mil but slowly going down to 3mil...

Depending on level and how many Beastmen/Kindreds seals you have:

70+ with decent staff skill you can solo spiders outside Aht Uhrgan for Spider webs, beastmen and kindred seals with Fenrir as your tank and Spirit taker to keep MP up.
With Thief sub job you get Treasure hunter which helps you net Spider webs faster.
Sneak attack + Spirit taker stacks so when done right you probably never run out of MP.
Spider webs do have lowered a lot in price but still sell very fast, at least on my server.

Go to Ru'Ann gardens and solo Sprinklers with Fenrir or Titan, these occasionally drop high level blm spells which sell for a pretty decent price to NPCs.
They also drop Burst very occasionally which sells for a pretty nice price on AH.

A couple of Summoner friendly BCNMs:
Shooting Fish BCNM 20 can be soloed by a summoner with Astral flow up.
Notable Drops: Mannequin body and head.

Under observation BCNM 40 a summoner is a very decent kite for the sobbing eyes.
Notable Drops: Peacock Charm, Erase, Utsusemi: Ni

Up in Arms BCNM 60 can be trio'd by 3 summoners without astral flow.
Notable drops: Kraken Club (if you're very lucky)

Operation Desert swarm KSNM30 a level 75 summoner should have no problems soloing one of the scorpions.
Notable drops: Venomous Claw, Damascus Ignot, Serket Ring.

              For a risk taker:

E-vase-ive Action: Soloable by a 75 SMN (Garuda vs Wind Pot). Takes some practice and lots of meds. Can drop Damascus Ingot.

ENM Like the Wind: A Hard solo, but manageable. /NIN to avoid Single Target Spells and its near constant Toxic Spit. Less meds needed than E-vase-ive Action. Dangers are its fast movement speed, Aeroga III and its constant attack spam (ranged or melee). Avatar never takes hate off of you, so BPs can only happen during spells, or unless you stand still and let it spit at you. For solo, Fenrir, -perpet gear and 5-6 Yags, duo can use Garuda. Can drop Maneater, Galateia and Cloud Evoker as well as 2k exp/limit.

That one is really hard =/, specially when he takes off. His magic attacks get really annoying.
