Summoner question

Does each summon spell have a level requirement like blm and whm spells do, or can you learn every summon spell at lvl 1? And if there is not a lvl requirement for summons, does that mean that every thing you summon will be the same lvl as the summoner? So that would mean if you got a high lvl summon, it wouldnt be too powerful because it will always be at your lvl. And, if you have sum as a sub job, would the summon be the same lvl as your sub job(which makes them less powerful) or the same as whatever your mains lvl is?

Your level as a summoner doesn't matter, if only you can let summons obey you with whichever job you visit them with.
You can summon Ifrit or Titan at level 1.

The strength and the kinds of abilities of your summons increase as your level as a summoner gets higher.
For example, at level 1, Carbuncle can use the ability of 'Healing of Ruby' only (a bit of HP restored). But when you reach level 5, Carbuncle will learn 'Poison Nail' (Attack an enemy with poison effect), etc.

Of course, if you choose summoner as your sub job, the power of your summons will be restricted to the half of the level of your main job.

Oh thats awesome, I didn't know Summons got abilities as they leveled up just kinda attacked and did their "special thing". Thats awesome... I'm even more excited about becomming a summoner. ^_^

BTW I'm expecting a Summon Pokedex now lol.

To answer your other question, yes your summon is at the same level as your summoner job. However, it is stronger than you though.

I have a quick question, as i understand there is a question to gaining the special job of summoner, but besides the quest, is there a job requirment?....such as lvl 40 blkm/40whm?

lvl 30 (any job) is the requirement (basic).


but for the real lvl requirement is 60+++++. all of the summon spell is hard to obtain is you are not so high lvl.... :sweat:

Eh....

Eh... I can use Carbuncle for like 50 years until I get to Lv. 60+. You DO get Carbuncle when you first become a summoner right? :sweat:

He doesn't mean that you use carbuncle until level 60. He means that in order to get the other summons you have to have any 1 job at level 60 because the summon fights are so hard. In other words, level requirements don't exist for the summons but you do need another high level job in order to defeat the summon boss. So if I was a level 60 thief. level 30 warrior, and a level 1 summoner it would suffice to get the other summons. You don't have to kill the summon boss with summoner as your main or sub. You just have to have to be able to change into it.

There's also another alternative to the level 60 fights that I think everyone should try out. There are level 20 capped one-on-one fights with the avatars that you could choose to do. The only avatar you can use is Carbuncle, and the costs of the fights are a tad expensive at that level. However, what you learn through those fights outweighs the cost, imo.
