And I'd have to say very unlikely because he spams Eclipse Bite (3 shadows), Lunar Cry (every buff removed), Crescent Fang (damage and strong paralyze), Moonlit Charge (damage and blind) and Ecliptic Howl/Growl (stat boosts for him and acc/eva down for you).
After he 2 hours he has almost unlimited TP, and uses these moves at will... every 4-5 seconds it seems.
Unless I see a video of someone doing this, I don't believe it for a second. I've seen him tear a 75 PLD apart in 4-5 hits so a paper-thin RDM after Lunar Cry?
Nah, not gonna happen.
It has been done, I don't know if you count the keyboard macros (external macros) as "cheating", but a Taru RDM soloed it with RDM/NIN (this is probably the video mentioned on the opening post). Through the use of the extended macros, the player was able to maximise the power of each and every spell that was thrown at Fenrir. Kept Bind and Gravity up and just basically kited him with Poison II and Bio II. The RDM never full on face to face meleed Fenrir, so that's why the PLD dies in 4-5 hits.
EDIT: (Just in case) I am neutral about the use of extended macros. In the ORIGINAL Allakhazam post (somewhere before the one above), it was stated by a few other people that the use of it is cheating. I only mentioned it in my reply because someone has mentioned it. I do not wish to argue about the uses of it with anyone as I simply do not care. The use of the macros is very obviousl due to the huge amount of "equipment changed" per macro hit. Your call.
Welcome to how a rdm solos. The idea is to wear down by attrition. It takes us a long time to solo, but we win in the end.
It would be possible to do without the use of extended macros, just take a little more time and care. You are not necessarily using the whole gamut of rdm spells, so yes, it is entirely possible (and how Avesta solos)...
Extended macros or not, what that rdm was superb.

That's just ridiculous, it's like being able to pause the game so you can equip the right gear...
Nope, that doesn't count as a win in my book, sorry. It's blatant cheating, and one of the main reasons (for me) that the windower (with plugins) should be clamped down on.
I had a guy in my LS refuse to play THF WITHOUT the extended macros as "it's too hard"...
Frankly, SE giving us 6 slots per macro is what is stupid. I don't know what it is like for smn, but it is bloody ridiculous when I jump from full enfeebling set to full mnd set to full mp set - I virtually need 3 macros per swap.
Cheating or not, he soloed Fenrir.

I could solo lots of things if I could have a macro that allowed me to equip and use powder boots and silent oils and prism powders and hi-ethers ALL IN THE SAME MACRO.
Maybe it isn't ideal, you won't get arguments from me on that, but it's how the game works. Anyone who admits to using extended macros gets a GM call from me, because it's altering the game mechanics so you get an advantage over other players, and that's just not right. If you think it is, you're no better than flee bots or claim bots because you're screwing others to make yourself better at the game, because you can't do it on your own.
Why even play the game if you have to cheat to be good?
I saw a video of an Elvaan RDM/NIN solo Fenrir without extended macros. If I can find the link soon, I'll edit it into this post. Edit:It's the original video that's posted. -_-; This guy is scrolling through macros, not using extended ones, you can even see as he presses the buttons.(The original video, that Snowball posted, not the other one.)
Just cause he used those macros you just dispute it like that? He could've set them into seperate macros and scrolled through pages, but most people are too lazy to do that it seems. I don't quite understand just simply refusing to count that he won, but to each his own, and all that. Fenrir has been solo'd many times by RDM/NIN's now, and I'm sure not all of them use extended macros. Always the same way too, kiting and DoT spells.
Ok, I saw a different video then, the one on youtube has a taru where each macro has about 10 equipment changes.
If he's done it legitimately, fine. If not, I don't count it as a win.
I understand, kind of, as well as understanding about wanting to do more lines with a macro, but as far as I know, the Elvaan in the OP's video is legitimate. I mean it's possible, but I notice that he uses a few macros to change equips back and forth, and it seems that he's pressing multiple buttons, not just one for like 10 equips, like you say. I just remember watching the video and being amazed, and anyone that has the ability to do that by themselves, for so long, is quite a pro in my book.
The link to the Elvaan video is in the OP. It was done by Seijurohiko of Cerberus. I wasn't looking terribly closely, but I didn't see anything fishy-looking about the video.
Maybe it's true that SE should've given us more lines in macros, but imo if you're using a third party program to enhance the functionality of the game beyond what other players have access to, that's cheating and thus I would never use it myself.
That said, more macro lines is such a minor convenience issue that I don't really care if other players use it. I mean honestly, how superior is it to equip and use powder boots, silent oil, prism powder and hi-ether at the push of ONE button rather than at the push of TWO buttons? Each action takes a specific amount of time to do in-game anyway, so you're not getting things done any faster. Really you're more likely to screw yourself over with a /wait time that's too short or too long due to varying lag conditions and come out less efficient than doing it manually or with multiple macros. The only real use I could see for extended macros is large equipment swaps, in which case we're still talking about using two buttons instead of one button, saving you a fraction of a second at best. So if I see an amazing solo or whatever accomplishment by someone using extended macros, that would "count" to me because it would mean it's equally possible for a player without that tool to do the same thing.

Re: Sabaron
You don't lose whispers when you fight Fenrir Prime.
Icemage
I didn't know that! I assumed that since the cut scene shows the 6 whispers that they're "expended" at the time of the battle.
I've seen Seijurohiko's and that's the one I was making reference to since most RDM solo vids are so long that I don't bother downloading 200Mb of "Bio II/Poison II/Bind/Gravity/occasional Nuke @ Convert/Rinse/Repeat ad nauseam.." since I already know exactly what it looks like.
external macro is a very very small factor in the victory you know.... you spend, what, 1/2 seconds more if you use 2 macro instead of 1. Hardly any decisive factor.
It's more about preparing the right macro and having the right gear really. Having Crimson Legs was a huge factor, having as many fast cast enhancing items was a factor, having the most INT boost for maximum bind/blizzard/gravity was a huge factor. Apart from macro/gear, know when to cast utsusemi, stoneskin, and when to use your macro is even a bigger factor.
Having to press 1 more macro is not.
The Fenrir Rdm/nin solo was, seriously, so easy I almost wanted to cry. >.< If you don't make any mistake, it's TP move will never hit you.... that's the only way you'll lose, eclipse bite can do 1k+ damage. Other wise, /poke fenrir.
