Since the patch just made our summoning magic skill much easier to level up and cap, and since it now actually makes a difference with Avatars, I was wondering if anyone had tested spirits recently? Before the patch, spirits were our only summons that actually benefitted from increased skill, so I was curious if they've gotten any better or if anyone had noticed a change there. It seems my light spirit still casts on the same timer as always, so I'm guessing timers are unchanged at least.

I know the timers are unchanged, but i've seen a change in the resist rates which lead me to believe that summoning skill above cap effects spirit magical accuracy the same way it effects bloodpact rage attacks and bloodpact ward enfeebles. I used to have trouble sticking burns and getting good damage spells of on limbus mobs, but since the update i haven't had a single burn or flare resisted. Black mages were nuking undead in limbus with tierII ancient magic for 200-600, fire spirit did from 400-560 damage and stuck burn on it twice. I want to get more chances to test them out, but my time in game lately is limited due to school overwhelming me lately.

Excellent, that was pretty much the kind of confirmation I was hoping to see. With these kinds of results, there actually would be a point to piling on full AF or AF+1 and pulling out a spirit. (the -avatar enmity on these helped make spirits slightly more aggressive with their casting). It's been awhile since I got up to sky this week, I think I'll hit one of the elemental islands and do a little testing of my own.
