  • soloing places for 58+ please?

Seems like I can only party my summoner between Friday and Saterday. There's not much players seeking any other days to form a PT, let alone being invited ._.
I heard that SMN can solo pretty well with something like Bombs, just wondering what choices do I have from 58 to 75?

Snolls in Uleguerand are probably soloable by SMN around 58-60. They are level 60-63. Just slap Carbuncle on them until they blow up.

Yes, and remember: when you resummon carbuncle, make sure you are far enough away so the casting of carbuncle doesn't get you hate. You won't need to tell Carbuncle to assault (after the one to initialize the fight) as your aggro will make him auto assault.

Uleguerand Range can last a soloing summoner from 55-75. There's 4-5 different kinds of snolls.

This link is to KI, but it's the one post there I absolutely had to put in my favorites. It lists which mobs are good to solo from 51-75, and the main reason it's such a good guide is the person took the time to edit maps to show where the bombs/snolls spawn and where good camps/kiting paths are.

Most of the levels between 63-75 I solod in Ugly Range on snolls. I had a couple of SMN friends that were the same lvl as me @64, took a 6 SMN party to the ice lake east of where jourgy spawns and killed agilooks. Getting to that place sometimes takes some skill because of the true sight and maggro mobs, but the exp is worth it. We were getting chain 5's for a TON of exp, was better exp then any party I had ever had EVER! EXP at that lake is still good when I solo there at 75, and im sure it would still be good if I had a dou partner, agilooks check VT and T to me at 75.

Re: soloing places for 58+ please?

Uleguerand Range is a really good place to solo,

the guide Xylaa put tdown there also was my guide to soloing there.
However there are some things different from that guide because SE put mobs on different spawn points a while ago.

at level 58 until level 65/66 Morozko are very decent exp to solo on.
the spawn about half way the map and the tunnel they are kited through is completely free of mobs.
The risk is that sometimes a Taurus likes to sit in front of that tunnel once every while.

On top of that tunnel there is an Akseloak you can take on for an extra exp boost at the end of a chain.
The Akseloak camp that's stated on the map on Spira's KI guide isn't safe anymore because there are sight/true sight mobs everywhere now.

If you like risk I'd suggest you try and climb all the way up to the frozen lake at level 66 and solo the Agloolik.
These are the high level bombs 70+ usually solo and give max exp until level 71/72 per kill and are really nice if you have a buddy or 2/3 you can chain them really safe.
Solo it is really risky but doable, just bring reraise.
The route up there is quite risky tho.

Another location to solo is Ifrit's cauldron, however I noticed the bombs there hit a lot harder and there are fewer camps where you can kite safely.

Re: soloing places for 58+ please?

Well, one suggestion I'd make is that before you hit Ulegrande Range, you make every effort to finish out the exp ranges in Ifrit's Cauldron. Reason for this is that in both of these places we compete with BST for the lowest level bombs. In Ulegrande range, there are really only 2-3 good "Snoll" camp spots. Entrance tunnel, tunnel past the polar hares heading to Morozkos, and the ramp to the buffalo range down below. You could try to also go down by Buffalostalker Dodzbroz, I guess, but that tunnel was so busy and convoluted I wrote it off as a bad kiting spot.

The thing about Ifrit's Cauldron is you really only have to clear one bomb to establish a good camp there, making literally dozens of possible camps. Pre-COP bomb mobs also only have two WS. Ulegrand Range and Movalpolos Bombs have 4. This means it's a lot faster to get Ifrit's bombs to explode sometimes. I've had an Agloolik on the line at the frozen lake for 20 minutes before, wasn't that I didn't want to ditch him, it was just that I didn't have anywhere to run during the ice weather.

Once you get done with Ifrit's, head back to Ulegrande Range and finish up with Morozkos and on up. Just realize that the marked Morozko camp can only support two kiters, and that's if you work it so you both use different parts of the tunnel. Once you get up to the Akselloak camp, there's really only one pop you can reach there in the marked kiting area. With a 5 min spawn timer, this means you can support only one kiter, and you'll probably be sneaking down to snag one Morozko to keep the exp chain going in between. Be advised that a lot of lower level SMNs like to bitch if they see even one other person in a spot they've chosen to camp, let alone a higher level snagging the occasional mob. You will get really really sick of other SMNs when camping Akselloaks.

At 70-71, I sort of gave up completely on Ulegrande Range and moved on to sky. Frozen lake was skill good exp, it's just that I really only consider that one kiting spot to be worthwhile, which meant if I saw even one SMN in my level range up there, it wasn't worth the trip to me.

Now then, Spiria's guide considers Ro'Maeve to be a complete and total deathtrap. She advises strongly against camping anywhere near there, and some of that thread has great diatribes against it. Let me give you the secret to Ro'Maeve that got me a few good levels and my Ark Pentasphere: camp the dolls on the stairs first! Start near the two staircases to Hall of the Gods. Pick one side, sic Carbuncle on that doll, and kite from about the middle of that staircase to whichever side of the other one the doll on that side isn't at. When the first dolly dies, go kill off the other staircase. If that dolly dies fast enough, grab one of the dolls next to the fountain and watch for the first to respawn. Cursed Puppets are 65-69, meaning if you've spent any time learning Ifrit's, you know enough about the magic aggro radius and how to use your compass's mob detection rings to effectively summon and survive here. If there are two summoners camping here, take just one staircase, and use the top of the other one as the second point. You should both easily avoid one another's kites, and AE seems to now be restricted to just the party that has aggro. Ro'Maeve isn't as hard as some people think it is. Hell, I regularly run to sky just repeatedly recasting the Sneak spell, if you know where you're safe and where you're not that isn't the amazing feat is sounds.

Prior to 70, should you get to a point where Ulegrande Range is camped out and you need a spot, check out Dolls in Ru'Aun gardens. Yeah, they're higher level than pots, but you can effectively kite them starting around 68ish and they will get you to 70 if you need them to. Only the dolls in the glowing blue alcoves aggro by anything other than magic, and I like to start with the first two of those so I can pop Despot and screw with passing HNMLSers. Give it a try, it's fun for the whole family!
