take the time to cap it early... You'll get further behind as you level up. I kept mine capped until level 35... then I got way behind

      This will be nice.

However, I spent 6+ hours in Bubu <tab> hunting leeches, and have YET to get the Ruby to drop. What the heck gives!?

      Thanks for the sig, Selphiie!!

I was gonna get mine capped once I hit 20 before going for fights...and with the BP skill ups I think it'll be easier now So I will take your advice and get it capped soon, but it's so boring I haven't gotten around to it yet ._.

Thanks to Roguewolf for the sig. :D

I paid good merit points for paralyze 2, if they give it for free to the job that's already the most overpowered in the game, I'm going to kill someone.

Enjoy your zero-MP nukes that do several hundred damage, though.

Those do cost money while MP is free

              OT:

Yes I'm very happy with the comming updates.

Although I'm not seeing a reason not to dismiss my avatar after a Blood pact this will certainly change the way summoners can act in traditional exp parties.

Several buffs thought useless earlier may now actually be worthwhile casting.
If SE makes it a lot easier to cap summoning skill buffs like Hastega and Crimson howl can actually be worthwhile to cast.
Next to that the already useful Ecliptic Growl and Howl would last considerably longer.
Also when your party gets in a little trouble and you just used a "Rage Blood Pact" to be able to summon an avatar with a Curaga and use it because of the different timer.
( Garuda's Whispering Wind, Leviathan's Spring Water or Carby's Healing Ruby II)

As I said in the topic in FFXI news there's also a benefit in other situations where you can buff your avatars for specific situations.
Crimson Howl + a physical BP on Ifrit might give a considerable damage bonus.
Ecliptic Growl/Howl + A physical BP from Fenrir with extra accuracy or some upped stats.
Or Dream Shroud + Nether Blast might give a little extra Bonus on Diabolos.
              Endless posibilities.

Says the RDM that can sub NIN for it's most job-defining spell and effectively cast continuously. *cough*hypocrite*cough*. Good to see irony and the whole pot/kettle mentality is still flowing freely.

I'm interested to see how the BP split will effect macros.

I don't think it will, as far as I know SE isn't going to change the name of the Blood pacts.
We will however need to check out exactly which BPs will be Ward and which will be Rage.
I think I have a good idea about which is which though.
                      But I do know I'm gonna have to rebuy a lot of that smn skill+ equipment and the prices have skyrocketed tenfold in one day. ; ;
I will also have to write a whole lot of new macros for the buffs/debuffs I normally used from the menu.

You know, this reminds me... at some point today I should really visit the RDM and NIN boards, even though I only have both these jobs levelled to 20. I feel I can add quite alot to their discussions. For instance, I propose that for no good reason at all, I immediately and visciously flame all White Mages for whatever it is White Mages do better than Summoners. Oh, let's say you guys get Hexa Strike 3 levels before I get to do Predator Claws and Rush. You evil little {Bastard Sword}s, you! SE obviously favors you guys way more than us, that's why you get the novelty condom hats for your AF.
Of course immediately after this, I feel it only fair that I immediately change my main job back to 65 White Mage so I can then reply to my post with a flame against myself, (and all other Summoners by association), for being a complete and total prick about abilities. Yes, as you can all clearly see here, this course of action will add nothing but tangible benefits to both the Red Mage and Ninja discussions on whatever the crap random topic I pick to go off on.
After all, kiddies... fair is fair.

                            Re: Summoner Update

I am happy to see they are going to add ways of increasing summoning skill during bloodpacts. That'll be very helpful.

As for the rest...I'm main healer SMN in my static and god knows a buff/attack split of timers would be the greatest thing ever. No more debating between doing ouchies to the mob and getting Earthen Ward up ^^

Aye, I keep thinking about this while I'm doing stuff in game now lol...

Last night I was on an Omega run on Limbus. Normally I have to come as RDM/DRK for Omega, but the leaders decided to try out the idea of having a designated buffing SMN in the tank PT. So yours truly got elected... heh.

Anyhoo, basically I did my level best to keep Noctoshield and Earthen Ward up on the NINs as much as humanly (elvaanly?) possible. And I couldn't help but think about how freaking awesome it's going to be next month when I can dole out Mountain Busters while waiting for the Blood Pact: Ward timer to come back up to buff the tanks again. Woooooooo!
