  • Prime Level Restriction

Apologies if this has been covered - I couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere.

Providing you have the fame required, is there a level restriction to go after the Prime avatars? I've been told by some there is no level restriction and others have said you need to be 60+.

I know you probably need to have a party of 60+ characters to succeed, but I'm just asking if you need to be of a certain level to get flagged with the quest to go after the Primes in the first place.

    Thanks!

Nope, just a fame requirement of a certain level. Summoner forums would give you exact details, as I can't remember it off the top of my head. Basically though, you could walk into the BC with a lvl 1 character w/o subjob if you wanted to and had the right fame level. You'd probably be slaughtered if the prime so much as looked your way, but it is doable.

The 60+ requirement is for actually contributing. If you have a pair of high level summoners or a RDM/NIN willing to kill it for you, you don't need the levels though.

You can walk into them at level 1 if you can get there and if you have enough fame to get the fork.

Yep. Fame is the only requirement. Getting to some of the Cloisters can be challenging, however, unless you're 70+ (be prepared to use a lot of silent oil/prism powder, particularly when headed to the Cloister of Flames for Ifrit).

Takes a somewhat brave RDM/NIN at 74+ to solo, but only really need minimal backup. Just make sure you don't fight them on one of their strong days to avoid complete non-resisted 2-hour abilities (thus one-shotting your high level friend).

yea... Shiva + Iceday = bad idea. (2hr = more dmg than I can max out my HP for...)

          Shiva + Lightningday = /laugh (2hr = less than a beaten down Stoneskin.)

BarBlizzard was well over 150 for each.
