  • Ramuh at level 20.... Please help!

Ok so I got all the things i need. I bought 3 Ethers, 5 Hi-potions, 1 boiled crab, 1 yag drink, and 1 Selbina Milk. I plan to fight him tonight on Earthsday. I need advice and fast @_@. Anything anyone can offer? Behaviors? Anything? I read up on the guide, yet for some reason i still feel kinda nervous ><

Re: Ramuh at level 20.... Please help!

    Watch these:

    http://www.youtube.com/results?search=ramuh

    Get these:

Baron's set (it's expensive but optional)
    Hermit's Wand (Mandatory)
    Heko Obi +1 (Mandatory)
Physical Earrings x 2 (Optional, but strongly encouraged)

    Consumables:

    Boiled Crab (1 per battle)
Pamamas Au Lait (1 per battle)
Hi-potion (should have 5+ in inventory per battle)
Mulsum (should have 6+ in inventory per battle)
OR Ether (should have 3+ in inventory per battle)
Yagudo Drink (2 per battle, probably only drink 1)

You need exactly 44mp to use Carbuncle's Blood Pact.

You need 2~3 fame in each of the following areas:
San D'Oria, Bastok, Rabao (take Millioncorn to Selbina)
Mhaura, Kazham (Do "dirty mail" / Coronettes for Windurst fame)
Norg (deliver zinc, yag necklaces or Sandy run)

    http://ffxi.somepage.com/fame.php

    http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/search...ni+Tuning+Fork
Go thru the above to read each "Trial Size" quest thread.

Another note on the baron's set... Don't buy the hat.

You'll need to have both protect and shell active when you fight. Ask a friendly neighborhood white mage (shout) to assist you. If you go in without shell, you'll probably die and you won't be able to cast it on yourself being only 20th level (WHM10).

If you can get a high-level SMN to give you Earthen Ward and Aerial Armor as well, you're golden.

    Double Post Edited:
Ramuh is different than the other 20-caps. DO NOT USE ASTRAL FLOW UNTIL AFTER RAMUH USES THUNDERSPARK!
    Let carbuncle die once.

    Here's the procedure:

    Run to the "bend".
Drink Pamamas. Eat Crab. Summon Carbuncle.
    Proceed to the "nest".
    "Assault" Ramuh.
    --Ramuh Activates Thunderspark.
    Run to the "Crystal".
    Cast Paralyna if you're paralyzed.
    --Carbuncle Dies
    Resummon Carbuncle.
    Assault Ramuh.
    Drink Yagudo.
    Astral Flow.
    Searing Light.
    DON'T MOVE UNTIL CARBY JUMPS.
    Run to "Nest"
    --Carbuncle dies.
    Resummon Carbuncle.
    Assault.
Blood Pact Timer nearly done? Drink ether/mulsum to 44 or more mp.
    Searing Light
    Dont move.
    Run to "crystal".
    --Carbuncle Dies
    Resummon Carbuncle.
    Assault.
Blood Pact Timer nearly done? Drink ether/mulsum to 44 or more mp.
    Searing Light

Ramuh should be dead, but if he's not, just keep attacking him until he dies.

Another note. When you activate Searing Light, you should be standing right next to the avatar otherwise he might move and the blood pact will miss.

Carbuncle's mitts if you can. I'm pretty sure theses make lvl 20 avatar fights (| Too weak |).

Otherwise, the bad thing with him is that his 2H paralyse and this can really be a pain if it kicks in at the worst time ( wich will happen of course ). So wait for him to 2H and you to get ride of the paralyse effect before using astral flow.

Since the strategy is to use Astral Flow for 0 perp. cost in mini-forks and that max mp is of no concern Carby mitts is not needed at all, since their benefit is of no use in these fights.
Keep in mind, sig might be outdated I just update it a few times per week.
Signature with the usual levels and obtained stuff etc. . .

Re: Ramuh at level 20.... Please help!

Ramuh's 2hr (Judgment Bolt) doesn't paraylze. Another move he has (Thunderspark) is AoE paralyze. If Avatars use bloodpacts as soon as you aggro them, (I don't remember, it's been awhile) then be sure to stay away from carbie after you tell him to assault Ramuh, until Ramuh has used his bloodpact. On the lvl 20 Ramuh fight, I remember running in beside carbie and getting spanked with a thunderspark and losing due to paralysis.

So, have carbie assault Ramuh, once Ramuh uses his bloodpact, then run in and SL Ramuh. If you can avoid that first BP, it shouldnt be too difficult to get the last two SL off. Hopefully he wont have a BP ready for you when he goes to attack you after killing your last carbie.

Re: Ramuh at level 20.... Please help!

I know i'm like 1 month late but for every summoner going to solo ramuh.
Ramuh's First move is Thunderspark (Paralyzaga) DO NOT 2hr before he uses it soo it's
Summon Carby > Assault > WAIT > He uses Thunderspark > Paralyna Yourself > Astral Flow > Searing Light > run > redo

Yesterday finally i obtained all my avatars 1/1 Titan, 1/1 Leviathan, 1/2 Shiva, 1/2 Ramuh, 1/3 Garuda, 1/3 Ifrit

            I always use Hi-ethers i never use Ether they're 5-10k while Hi-ethers 2k-2.5k
2 yag drinks (just in case) and my rest item is Hi-potions, i full my inventory with hi-potions and keep 1 slot for the fork, and i guarantee you 100% win

Because at garuda it took me 10 minutes to kill her, i only SL her 2 times and my third was too late my AstralFlow wore off, i Melee'd her rest hp and finished her with banish

Ifrit was stubborn, my first fight "He resisted my Searing Light, my first one did 105, my second did 51, so i simply released carby and let him kill me to finish this quickly"

            Take care.

Re: Ramuh at level 20.... Please help!

The problem I had with the Hi-Ether potions, as stated above, (I make them myself, so they're very cheap) is that they have a 5-second drinking timer with a 5-second spell/ability lockdown thereafter, but I suppose if you were trying to save money, they'd be fine. 10 seconds in an avatar fight is a long time though, and if you die because you cheaped out on potions, then you've wasted much more than you saved. I used Hi-Ether for my first 3 battles and almost died to Ifrit because of the lockdown--Carbuncle bit it to his 2hr and I was forced to resummon, however, with the 10-second lockdown, I wasn't able to summon carby and Ifrit reached me and interrupted me twice before I got carby out--used 2 Hi-Potions and got the 3rd Searing Light out ftw. Thereafter, I switched to the more expensive, but faster and more versatile Mulsum.

I don't know why people think you need 44 mp for Blood Pacts as a lvl 20 Smn. You need (Level x 2). Just pointing this out.

Aaliyah is more than a woman and she graduated with a 4.0 GPA (she only had 1 "C" grade ever in her life).

I bolded and underlined the "is" just for you, Malacite.
