Unable to Complete Summoner Quest

Im having a very frustrating problem. I managed to get all but fire for my summoner quest. i heard the Easter Altepa Desert was a good place to get it. I wait right at the border between the desert and korroloka tunnel. well fire finally appears, i zone to korr and come back, nothing happenes, no cut scene. I try it again. nothing. I thought at the time maybe its possible i already got fire and somehow missed the cut scene. so i goto la theine to the rock circle and find nothing there. I have since returned to altepa and the same thing happenes. Im possitive that I have gotten orange ,green,yellow,blue,violet and
indigo cause i wrote the colors down as i saw the cut scene.

Im going out of my mind here, i tried talking to people in ff but they are baffled. I tried online chats with playonline and square enix but they tell me they dont offer game strategy support, if anyone has any ideas please post them. thanks.

My only idea is to try again and again. Also, Maybe try Yhoator Jungle for Fire, or Ifrit's Cauldron. Good luck, I hope it works out.

Edit: What I mean by again and again is try the other weathers.

Were you carrying your Carbuncle's Ruby at the time? Are you sure you didn't leave it in your mog house or storage someplace?

The cutscene should have appeared for you - I've never heard of this quest failing like this in 3 years of play.

Only thing I can suggest is double check to make sure you've got Fire and Ice weather cutscenes by attempting to re-acquire those elements while carrying the ruby.

BTW: Ifrit's Cauldron doesn't count for fire weather, it's an indoor zone.

I might be wrong, but you can't zone from Kor tunnel to desert to get effect since you are in a tunnel. if you logout then back in you should get the weather effect. Thats what I did for both fire and ice.

Nah, should work just fine. Cave entrances have nothing to do with it - it's all about whether the zone is considered Outdoor or Indoor. Outdoor zones are places where Chocobo Mazurka work. Indoor zones are places where Escape works.

ok ill try getting out of the tunnel and logging out and reporting on what happenes

is it possible to view what weather you experienced? or are the logs of the game kept anywhere on my computer to view?

Oh, When I got ice, the ice element was in effect when i zoned in but was in the cave, and didn't get the cutscene, but temp logged(i miss that fuction) and back then got the cutscene. Course that was about year ago /:

Not for the carbuncle's ruby quest. Some quests track your progress with various key items - this one does not. If re-acquiring fire doesn't work, try re-acquiring ice. Those are generally the only two elements you don't run into normally in everyday travelling.

Dunno, maybe the zoneline to Korroloka is bugged somehow? You could try going to Rabao - I know for a fact that getting it from zone-out there works.

P.S. You didn't by any chance throw out your ruby and start over with a new one did you? Unlikely, but has to be asked - if you throw out your ruby you have to start all over again with every element.

You might have mixed up the "Plain" weather and "Fire" weather..I did the same

I.E. No weather icon in the day = plain
Fire Icon appearing above compass = Fire

Or maybe you mixed up a couple other elements like ice & water? All I can think of..

Try getting fire in the dunes, that's what i did and it worked just fine.

possitive that I have gotten orange,green,yellow,blue,violet and indigo

You're missing Light weather, not fire, unless I'm missing somthing....

Try getting fire in the dunes, that's what i did and it worked just fine.

Fire is fairly rare there.

Erk, also, aren't there 8 days?

So you either need the 6 basic days (which it appears he could have if I misinterpret the colors... or he is missing Ice)

Or all 8 days.

Damn, I should have looked this quest up.... Nevermind, I am a retard.

This is the quest, and now I know why I'm dumb...
