  • Summoner Tier IV magic bursting... changed?

Ok, I am XPING. at bibiki bay on my 67 blm and im bursting fragmentation with thunder III for around 780 - 860 mroe or less. and this summoner is doing 600 - 700 with Ramuhs thunder 4. Now that is sweet cause we are killing fast, but either my memory is failing or someting, becuase i dont recall that bursting damange when i was around that level! And I know i had very good gear back then.

    Any comments?

    Thanks
    DH

Unresisted my MB's on skillchains with Avatar's Tier IV spells are indeed around 6/800 damage.

I don't do it often as I get resisted a lot, but when I get the chance I do.

I generally use carbuncle on most bursts since I can leave him out and do other things for free.

This might help. Damage is done assuming no resists. Remember that everything in sky (minus birds) have like -20% or -25% magic damage taken (I think pots have even higher). In general, magic bursting at level 75 is pretty much pointless unless it has incredible physical defense (not not magic resistance). But good luck finding a SMN exping on those. >_>a

Edit: Meh, just noticed it doesn't even talk about magic bursting on that.

Re: Summoner Tier IV magic bursting... changed?

MB from Diabolos on a Dark skilchain @ 73 was around 650 constantly on golems in sky. (Nether Blast)
I like this BP because it's unresisted by most mobs.

Unresisted I MBed Blizzard IV with Shiva for 750ish on the same mobs.
Thunder IV did about the same unresisted.

All MB's were done with minimal avatar TP.

As for Meteorite MB with Carbuncle at 300TP I avarage about 750ish on a light/fusion skillchain.
              Around 550/600 with minimal TP.

Re: Summoner Tier IV magic bursting... changed?

Before I swapped over to the 70 bloodpacts, I could generally run close to the same burst damage of an average blm (good ones would of course always shame me while I could outburst poor ones) with them getting the edge on me just a hair. If I had the mp to leave the avatar out to build tp, I would, since it will help increase the damage. Some people feel that the increase isn't enough to warrant the mp expense, while others feel it is. If I have mp to burn, I'll do it. If mp is tight and I want that tp burst, I'll try to burst with carby when possible as I can leave him out and still get mp back.

I don't burst nearly as much at 75 as I opt to use the 70 bloodpacts over a nuke. It makes it nice not having to hold up melees to wait on doing a chain until my timer is ready.
