Functionality for solo experience: Ifrit. He's got a bad rap all around from a lot of summoners because he doesn't have many blood pacts that are useful in PTs, but after 70, he rocks for solo.

Functionality for soloing things that don't give experience (farming, etc): Carbuncle, just because he's free

Correction Fenrir AND carbuncle for solo 65 +^^

Even on EP, when I solo I use fenrir on bombs FTW.

On DC I use ifrit or leviathan, BUT Ramuh Chaotic Strike+ LONNNNNNG duration stun is Suspiciously LARGE!!

Yeah, I'm surprised more people don't use ramuh just for that. It's a very impressive length of stun, and happens nearly 99.9% of the time on non-HNM. And the damage isn't all that different from garuda sometimes. (Unless the monster is strong against blunt, then chaotic strike isn't too good...)

I've loved Shiva in every FF game so far, especially her animation in FFX.

So I have to pick Shiva. :D

Second goes to Carbuncle, just cause he's cute and very useful.
