Hey people! Im new to FFXI, thus the low level and hope to be a SMN/SAM one day. I think that instead of making Ixion which was mentioned, maybe they could make an upgrade for Ramuh making him a centaur. That would be awesome. If you guys have any tips on the game you could give to an soon Xbox 360 newbie from the Beta Test it would be greatly appreciated. And by the way Darkhound i love the pic. Phoenix woud be too much like Ifrit and I wouldnt want my favourite summon copied into a bird.

First of all, I pray you are not going SMN/SAM but mean you will level both SMN and SAM. Secondly, I don't think Ifrit and Phoenix are all that similar. Phoenix represents life and rebirth not just fire. Phoenix would be sweet to res a party wipe lol.

thats exactly why S-E would not put it on. It would put Bahumut etc. at a disadvantage and would be completely unfair and no fun. What secondary class would you recommend for SMN

WHM or RDM, but preferably WHM. At higher levels I can see BRD working, depends on your play style.

RDM it is then. I started off as one but didnt get that far. As i have money from my warrior training im sure to progress a bit further. what does the gil thing mean by my name as i have much more than that in the game.

What class and lvl do you need to wield two blades? thats where the SAM idea came from. SMN holding two blades with ifrit backing up. now thats class.

It's for the boards... get enough and you can customize the look of your name, change your title, change your name, someone else's title, or play the mini rpg on the boards. Look under the "Store and RPG" tab at the top.

Valefore was air based i think and earth. he was the eagle and the first summon in ffx. Ixion was the thunder one and i think it could be an upgrade either to get ramuh on ixion horseback or to merge them to make ramuh centaur. could work. You think?

You can only move a toon to another world when S-E offers a migration.

about your dual wielding thing: having a sub does not change the weapons you'd be able to use...you only get the abilities and spells of the job to half of your main lvl...and since summoners cannot wield blade weapons, you wont be dual wielding any blades with ifrit...

also, the job that learns dual wield is ninja, by the way, but ninja to sub summoner is not a great idea. stick to smn/rdm. the main problem with this game is that job/subjob combos, at least for the mana-based jobs, is really specific. you wont get far subbing a melee job, unfortunately.

if your looking for a job that fights but has a pet still, go beastmaster or dragoon.

also, phoenix would not be unfair at all and is completely separate from ifrit. in fact, thats probably the most likely summon they'll include into the game, im thinking.

SMN have dagger skill, so they can dual-wield bladed weapons if they want to. Not that it'd be useful.
