Do you have to be lvl 30 to get the carbuncle ruby or can you get it at a lower level?

you can get it at any level if some friend help you kill the leech.
you can't get the quest until level 30 tho.There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

ok then my next question is the ruby only dropped by the leeches in qufim and shakhrami or can you get it from other leeches like ones in dangruf?Comment

they have to be high enough level. pretty sure the ones in dunes don't drop it but ones in buburomu do.

I have been personally involved in drops at Ordelle's, Shakarami, Burburimu, and Quifm. Presumably, since Ordelle's and Shakarami drop em, Gusgen does too if there are leeches down there.
Easiest: Level 75 + Leech Room in Shakarami. AoE 20 leeches at once. Usually drops first time, especially with TH or TH2. Soloing @ Level 30 I suggest Burburimu - seems to drop more frequently than Dunes and the leeches are spread out compared to Shakarami, and there is less to ago while Soloing.Comment

Dangruf Wadi apparently drops them too, which would be easiest for level 30s...but I've gone through and wiped out wadi multiple times while waiting for my friend to do the prerequisites for THF AF2 and never saw one drop... The wadi ones probably have a horrible drop rate.
But yeah...if you can get a level 75 to help, leech-room rocks.
Otherwise, if you can get a friend closer to your level, as a WHM you two could probably duo bubu leeches without too much trouble. Although you'll probably want to take care at night, I remember a bogy soloing my level 40 WHM. >_>Generic Info!
