  • "Carbuncle readies SL"............nothing

This happened to me while fighting ifrit. I meleed him a bit, then used my first SL, did 210. Ran my butt off, resummoned carby, set up again, then used 2nd SL, Carby readied it, then nothing. I was standing next to him, in Ifrit's face. Carbuncle went down in his "i'm gonna kick your ass" pose, then continued to melee attack. OK, not that big a deal ifrit's at half HP. Did the normal drill, then used 3rd searing light, went off fine, 210 dmg. Ifrit 2hrs, kills us both. You couldn't even see red in his HP bar, if i'd used Poison Nails or Dia, i would have won. Really makes me mad.

Anyway, anybody have any idea why the Searing Light would ready, but not go off, but still take my MP and reset the BP timer?
My summoning skill is about 30 pts below cap, but it's not like it missed. Grrrr 0/1 on avatars now

Did you make sure you had 2x your level in MP before you did SL?

In order to fire off your 2HR successfully, you need to have 2x your level in MP. In the case with solo'ing the avatars at level 20, you should have over 40MP when you execute SL.

The other thing is you have to make sure the avatar is right up on the mob when you do any Blood Pacts or they will miss. Usually gives you a red message saying something like too far away.

    GL with your fights.

Hmm, the blood pacts not executing sounds familiar. I do remember reading something else about a known glitch that can occur were they don't fire. I'd have to look it up again.
