• Most powerful level 70 avatar attack?

I think i read something before but can't seem to find it again. Any comments on which are most powerful and does AF2 boots help?
Need Yin Yang Rob!

Most powerful I heard is Garuda's, but since it's a multihit BP it will miss and deal less than it's potential.
In EXP parties it's better to go with Titan's or Leviathan's BPs, since they're both 1 hit BPs. Depending on the type of the mob; I think Titan works better on undead iirc.
I heard AF2 boots do help, but not a great deal (don't quote me on this, I've only heard from one source).

5 Titan on Bones = very sad ending ...><:dead:

5 Leviathan on Ark Angels = very sad ending.

Ifrit works extremely well on Bones also since he does physical and fire damage.

A SMN and BST alliance on my server took down Tiamat the other other day. In the screenshots they posted all I saw was tons of leviathans being used by the SMN - spinning dive for the win

3 Mithra are better than 1...
Sapphire - Valefor 30RDM/15THF
Navia - Valefor 70SAM/63NIN/42SMN/42RNG/60DRK
Navii - Valefor 70SAM/64NIN/42SMN/50RNG/60WHM

Navia - Asura (ret.) 75NIN/75RNG/55WHM/37WAR/37SMN/28THF

<3 leviathan

Well I would have to go with leviathan's "spinning dive".
For some reason "Spinning dive" not only hits hard but
It seems the most accurate among others.
Please Im not saying im 100% right but it has being my
experience while hanging around my smn good friends.
And damage wise I would say It all depends on what
are you fighting at the time ^^
Its a game not a job

Tiamat being fire-based was probably some of the motivation to use Leviathan.

To answer the subject line:

Spinning Dive - Nice 1-hit attack, ideal for HNMs that you don't want to be giving much TP, or just a higher hit chance.

Mountain Buster - Same as Spinning Dive but also binds.

Chaos Strike - Nice dmg attack when landed, also stuns which helps in some situations.

Predator Claws - Nice dmg attack when landed, criticals the most on IT+.

Eclipse Bite - Used best when soloing, less mp and rarely misses - less criticals on IT+.

Flaming Crush - Deals the most dmg on Too weaks. 3-hit attack and deals fire dmg.

Rush - No, just no. It may look awesome but - this is a 5-hit attack, dangerous when used on HNM, misses a lot, never really criticals. Just stay far away from this one. =/

And about the AF2 boots, I hear it doesn't add any dmg to BPs, just regular attacks. I don't notice much dmg on either BP or regular attacks from my experince. =/ Though it does look good. =)
Not one of these again~~~! =X

Spinning dive isn't magical so the fire and water thing doesn't really apply. It's all physical damage. I think they use it because it is most accurate.

Yeah I didn't think of that initially since I attached the elements strongly to the avatars in my mind. Wouldn't Leviathan be more resistant to fire-based area attacks by Tiamat though?

Yea, Levi would be more resistant to fire-based area attacks.

this is because Leviathan is generally the most accurate avatar.

Incorrect.

On HNM accuracy is an issue, the multihit WS simply will do less damage on average than single hits.

This means: Titan, Leviathan only.
Why Leviathan?

Levithan seems to have a higher damage cap than Titan, also Titan is classed as "Blunt" which can at times might be a bonus or a detriment to your damage potential.

I have 4x merits into avatar attack and 4/5 of the AF2 pieces ( just missing the hat ) and I have to say using AF2 gloves and AF1 legs lets you use the multihit abilities for great damage on lower HNM like the Tu'lia gods ( witness my 818 chaotic strike on Genbu yesterday ).

Dont forget but Spinning Dive also bypasses defense same way Spirits within does. So it does near full damage to the foes.

The add effect of bind and stun aren't 100%. They don't always happen, but it's nice when it does, especially stun, because the stun often lasts a noticable amount of time if it happens.

In regards to the relic shoes, they seem to also only work every now and again. Using shoes and letting your avatar melee, you'll notice that (when I tested this anyways), about 1/5 hits is stronger than the others, on average. Whether or not they process with the bloodpacts, based on this previous observation, I'd have to conclude that it is also not a 100% of the time effect, but a random effect.

This is kind of like the idea of the body piece, Critical +3%. Just means it happens more often is all, but that doesn't make it all the time. The set overall, though, is fairly useful, regardless, I think.

With regards to which avatar is more powerful, it depends on the situation, mostly the mob type, and your level difference, as Tazirai mentioned.

Also, in my experience, I have never seen any remote hints that the level 70 bloodpacts carry elemental attributes. It acts more like a generic weaponskill, based with accuracy and damage over resistance and the like.
