  • Fenrir Minimum

What would be the absolute *minimum* party configuration for killing Fenrir? (And why?)

How much evasion would make Fenrir's hit rate = the hit rate of the other avatars?

How does this fight feel in terms of other avatar fights?

    I must know

minimum lvl 73-74 pt, or 5 70+ smns. Blink tanking is a must if you don't want to get mow down by eclipse bite.

He hits like a truck, has triple attacks, very good accuracy.

his 2-hr easily does 800-1k+ without carol.

Perferably nin tank.... he's a very hard fight.

lowest regular pt I've seen go to fenrir was

      70 whm, 72 rng, 71 blm, 68 rdm, 74 nin, 67 brd

They won so I guess it can be done. But you need a really good pt balance to do it.

and the tank must be high lv. A lower lv tank will affect your pt output alot.

Personally I'm going in with 6x bst at lv 75.

      At least it'll be fun
      75/bst, 60/smn, 51/rdm, 46/whm, 40/blm, 37/nin, 37/thf, 37/war, 32/sam, 25/brd, 10/pld, 7/mnk

            Anyway, thanks for the info...

I have a friend (68 blm) who I'd like to see get the Fenrir summon a.s.a.p. -- without resorting to the goofiness that is paying people to do it -_- I'm aware that as a 68 thf I have nothing to offer a fenrir battle -- except maybe some stolen tp and the closing of a light chain. I asked about the evasion thing because I was hoping against hope on the off-chance that a thf with capped evasion, +50 or so in evasion gear, and +20 agi with said evasion gear could evade enough -_-

But I doubt it, especially pre-74 (utsu: ni). From what I've read, he hits fairly often -- but no idea what the evasion stats are on those tanks.

And Kasper knows I can tank the lower avatars (with the exception of Shiva, who just doesn't like to hate a thf/nin).

I ask mainly because (obviously, given my lack of knowledge) I've never been to a Fenrir fight, and it will likely be a long time before I can go.

Fenrir, in addition to insane damage, has a very good hit rate + triple attack+stupidly high evasion.

thieves will be able to dodge them ok i think, but the thf that I did my fenrir with wasn't able to draw hate so i ended up tanking it when things got hairy. (got killed by 2-hr -_-)

Recommand lvl 70+ for a rng for the last accuracy up trait and a m.cst bow if you have problems hitting.

What about minimum for the other summon primes?

And I do mean the lowest possible PT of 6 that could beat them

By "triple attack" do you mean like double attack or triple attack passive? or do you mean eclipse bite?

And for the other six, it kind of depends on the avatar.

At 67, I duoed Titan, Garuda, and Ramuh with a 67 blm/whm (so 67 thf/nin doing spirits withing at 300% and 67 blm/whm for barelementra, regen, cures, and nukes when possible).

Now, we didn't *try* Leviathan or Ifrit. They may have been doable for us, but no way to know now that we're both 70 anyway.

For Shiva you want a real tank (i.e. a pld or nin or war or something) because without provoke, Rush will both eat all your shadows and still do damage, causing very serious hate issues.

Titan was by far the simplest...two of his moves are absorbed by utsusemi, one is just stoneskin, and stone IV is the only one with any potential with an evasion tank. Shiva is the hardest because of Rush and Sleepga. They all have about the same HP though, and hit for the same, except Ifrit who can Crimson Roar a kabillion times and hit harder. Ifrit's up there with Shiva because of Flaming Crush, a 3x hit. But it's not near the problem that Rush is.

A well-coordinated party of 60's could do any avatar, I would say. My set went in at 65 and was really disappointed at how weak they are. Just keep barelementra up. (But remember there's still a chance for it to hit hard anyway.)

If our melee job you can't be below 74 or your doing injustice to party and get everyone killed by not doing any dmg. Blms need to be 73 or higher and White mages should be 72+.

What about WHM? What is the bare minimum that a WHM can enter the Fenrir battle without getting totally wiped by his 2 hour? And with what setup? I wouldn't go in until I was level 60 AT LEAST so that I can benefit from the small -Enmity bonuses from the WHM AF set.

Noone will touch a WHM for a fenrir party unless you can RaiseIII (that spell alone is like 1.5million gil now lol).
I'm not going to try tanking him until i'm 72 at a minimum. Other melee will have to be really high (72+) and most likely need their Weaponskill quest done and have optical hat.

3 Mithra are better than 1...

I've been looking to get Fenrir done early.

As for the other avatars, someone asked, well my avatar group that I joined is as such:
                            75-BLM
                            60-WHM
                            55-RDM

We had a tank but he got grouchy or something and the BLM and WHM decided we needed to ditch him and use tanks we find in Jeuno. So now we just use any tank 65+. As you can see from my signature, im the 55-RDM and ive yet to be killed by an avatar if I keep Stoneskin and Barspell up. Infact, hes never even broken my stoneskin. Only hard time Ive seen when our level 73 PLD once got dropped by Judgement Bolt (Ramuh 2-hr) but we still won cause we brought a second WHM who was a melee addict and all his Cure's and Hexa Strike's made him tank, which he pulled off quite well. But not without the BLM kiting Ramuh up and down the battlefield after each nuke he throws.

                            Windurst Rank 10. ZM14. CoP M5-2.
RDM->62 (AF Completed), MNK->62 (AF Completed).

Fenrir's passive attack is triple attack. Like a thieve's. Eclipse bite is just an added "bonus". x_x
