New Avatars ..?

<| Hello |> I'm just here to ask if the rumors of
there being new avatars in the expansion "Chains
of Promathia" were true.

I remember I heard that there were new avatars.
People were saying that one of those new avatars
would be Bahamut. But just the other day, I had
told a high level WHM this information and he
was being really rude and he wouldn't even accept
the idea of new avatars. He started saying that it
would be Alexander instead of Bahamut IF the rumors
were true, because they already have
Bahamut's "element".

So, are the rumors true? Will there be new avatars?

EDIT: I assume that there is NO WAY of officially knowing if there
are new avatars or not.. so instead.. do YOU think that there
will/should be new avatars.

Well don't they already have avatars and spirits for all of the elements? I don't see how they would make more unless they made new elements somehow or had more than one avatar per element.

Since there area already avatars for all the elements, the only thing I could honestly see happening is something like Alexander being added as non-elemental damage. However, no I do not think it is likely that they will add new summons. Personally, I hope they make some adjustments to the class before they even concider expanding the number of avatars.

I believe the Avatars we have now are classified as lvl1 Summons..

Fenrir
Ifrit
Titan
Leviathin
Garuda
Shiva
Carbuncle

where as a summon such as Odin or even Knights of the Round for simplicity sake will be lv2 Summons..

A summon such as Bahamut the Dragon and Alexander the Archangel I believe will be lv3 Summons and follow the elemental type as a lv3 Renkei for example, they will not be something you can just quest for i'm certain, they will be so painfully hard to get most will never see them. :sweat:

Knights of the Round most likely won't exist ever considering it's a Weapon Skill.

For new summons, I"d imagine they'd be structured similar to the way skillchains work (Level 1, level 2, level 3 [though level 3 is kinda iffy I guess])

How it'd work is most likely the new summons would be like the level 2 skillchains. Ice/Water, Fire/Light, Wind/Thunder, Dark/Earth. This seems to me to probably be the most logical path. But honestly I guess it's really up in the air as to what will happen. It's anyone's guess as to what the new avatars will be when and IF they add them.

They should just simply add race specific avatars, so summoners are more unique (and everyone complaining ^^)

whats this about all elements taken = all avatars over, the old ff's had TONS of summons, from ff7 to earlier games, im thinking ff6 style baby, it had 1 million and a half espers times two.

summons could do different things than only cause damage, think healing summons, think buffing summons, think status ailments summons, think special attack summons and think *NEW* stuff to be added, the people seem to forget that ffxi is *still growing* it is a very young game, and has tons of pottential and so many new things could be added, you people are so unliberal, i believe we still have to see much, much more on ffxi.

Avatars can already heal (Carbuncle, Leviathan's spring water), and there's already plenty of buffing avatars (Garuda, Titan, Fenrir come to mind as the most useful but there's more). They can all also do damage.

Anyways, the thing about earlyer ff titles still applies, just because it's got a limited number elements, doesnt mean it needs to have a summon per element, or just elemental summons.
