strategy for taking on the mini-quest avatars Shiva, Titan, Ifrit, and Ramuh? I am nearing 20 and want to take these 4 first but need help devising a decent strategy. Also do you loose exp if you die from the mini quests?

I like to have a lot of Hi-Potions (about 6) 2 ethers, 1 Yagudo Drink, and a fish mithkabob. I also like to be safe and get a protect, shell, and aquaviel on. Once I had those I just ran to the center bend, summon Carby, use a Yagudo drink then run to the summon. I then made carby attack it, used my 2hr, then used Searing Light. I then ran to the base waited for Carby to die, re-summoned, and used an ether. I then ran close to the summon and used Searing Light again. Every now and then the summon will kill Carby in before you can summon him again. Don't panic >>;; Just used Hi-Potions to soak up the abbuse and keep on trying to summon carby (the aqua viel should help him come out). Once carby is out use Searing Light for a 3rd time and the Avatar should be toast. The best tip I can give is use Hi-Potions and don't give up on trying to cast Carby.

Ok quick question, I thought that you could not use Searing Light with out using Astral Flow first, but Flow is a 2hr ability. How did you use Searing light again?

if you dont come to a forum to help people, then what do you do? instead of critizicing him maybe you could search for him, get the answer, and then explain how search works.
if you dont really come to a forum to help people, but to only get help, then its like taking and not giving anything back to the community. thats not someone i would want in my community.
and to the poster, i think you lose the EXP of
if you are less then 20, you're own level
and if you are higher then 20, the EXP you would lose if you were a level 20
also, i believe the strategy is to "kite" the NM, so you summon, go to top, sic pet, and run to the bottem of the cloister. when you're pet dies, you re-summon, attack, and run to the top
rinse and repeat untill the prime has 50%? hp, and then astral flow > searing light 3 times

give a man a fish and he will eat for a day,
teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.
the search function is on most every website. if it isn't cntl+f does practically the same thing on that page of topicsMarch 23 2004, a day that will live in infamy.
Use search, or deal with assholes like me

Not to mention, the answer to that question is still on the first page of this forum listing. No search function even needed - if it was obscure information, then maybe I could empathize, but damn, that subject has like 20 threads dedicated to it, and this is just adding to the madness.

Unless they changed it in one of the mini patches, you do not lose xp when you die doing the level 20 battles (I died 2 times in my 7 battles, and only had enough buffer for one death ><;; no delevelling occurred).~Fantasia~
