Can a summoner be wanted to DD in a TP..?

hey, i was looking forward to playing blm/whm till i could unlock summoner, but some posts have me kinda dissapointed, im talking about through al lvl's especially 15-60 or are they just WHM with a new name?

Summoners can use 1 ability ever 1 minute. You HAVE to do something else in that time or you're totally wasting the groups time. If you sub BLM you're gonna have half-level spells, and your elemental skill will be very low. Not worth it to try nuking like that, although this game does let you do what you want, so try it out. WHM is probably the better sub only because you can act like a full WHM like that.

You will always be a mainish healer job, even though summoner is the main job, most of your abilities will come from WHM.
