the lvl 20 battles

im a whm on fenrir debating between going beastmaster and summoner.....but i have some questions about the lvl 20 battles for those who have completed them. How much money do i need for each fight, 10k? 20k? and also what did you buy for each fight potions and yagudo drinks? how many of each of these would i need for a successful battle. any tactics that you guys found that worked well will also be appreciated if added in, thanks

I spent about 5k a fight, averaged out. I just made sure to practically fill up my inventory, incase something went wrong.

battles

excluding the initial 2 times i started fighting to get my stratagy working ok i went with:-

2 x Ether
1 x Yagudo Drink
4 x Hi-potions
1 x Fish mighkabob

and since using these i not lost the battles Leviathan is next on my list!
Average about 8-10k a battle unless you make some yourself

I beat them with 1.5k gil :S
just 1 fishkabob and 1 yagudodrink

I been watching the Shiva and Titan videos about a million times over, by the time i get to do the quest ima know exactly what to do

I wouldnt rely on the method Tarutatu used to beat Shiva, fact is he got pretty lucky. I followed the same method, beat Shiva with it (Just) and then tried Garuda.
Things got a bit bad here.. i dont remember Tarutatu getting hit for 150 damage Blizzard II's, well thats what happened to me when Garuda used aero, even with Shell II Buff.
Everything was going great untill Garuda used Aero II twice in the space of 15 seconds.

Summoned carbuncle *Aero II* - *hit* - *hit* - *dead* before i can get far away.
Then she comes after me while i wait to resummon *hit 7 damage. Additional effect: 20 damage* - *hit 8 damage. Additional effect: 18 damage* - *start using hi potion* *Aero II, 150 damage, you lose*.

nothing more i could have done, you just have to hope things dont go like that when you fight them, coz potions wont save your arse in that situation.

Damn, good luck finding a yagudo drink for less than 1600 on my server. and the fish kabobs go for 800 gil at the cheapest >.<

Ouch. Yeah i would like to see some other videos of tactics to beat them, but the shiva and titan are the only videos i can find, the rest are dodgy and small. I want more better quality videos with a big file size.

I think luck plays a bigger role in these battles than many will admit. The last time I fought Ramuh, he thundershocked me before I could get close enough to put carbuncle on him. I tried to cure it 4 times but failed each time, then I tried to do Searing Light and lost it from paralysis. Another failed paralyna, and a failure to cast carbuncle made it a battle which I stood completely no chance.
