How important is Fenrir?

How important is Fenrir? I'm geting SMN to 20 to do the new avatar quests since im not able to do it the normal way (yet) and was wondering if fenrir is to SMN as refresh is to RDM because ive heard it is~ :confused:

Well apparently people think a summoner is complete shit without Fenrir ever since he came out. This is not the truth. Summoners were here with just Shiva, Ifrit, Titan, Leviathan, Garuda, and Ramuh before Fenrir came out. They think that Fenrir some how beats Garuda's Blinkga, Titan's Stoneskinga, and Leviathan's Spring Water. They are so errogant and thick headed to see that a summoner doesn't suck if they don't have Fenrir. Now they are saying that all the other avatars are obsolete. I don't see how those people can be so dumb as not to see that.

Well...right now, here are my options as a level 31 SMN.

- Do about 40-70 damage with an avatars attack....-IF- it hits...and on the right days. I don't do this if I'm the main healer.

- Use Aerial Armor. 3 shot blink. Unforunately, until the tank starts taking 120 damage a shot, it's not worth the MP cost. It is more MP efficent to cast cure II 4 times. I don't know of any tank that takes 120 damage a shot...but if there is one...odds are they shouldn't be tanking it.
Aerial Armor is a great AFK spell. People go afk....put it on them. About to fight a boss? Aerial Armor. I'd use it more often if it stacked with NIN blink.

- Heal people. This is what I usually do...and right now, the only thing I can do that doesn't make me feel worthless.

Fenrir, at level 21 (or 24, unsure which), can lower enemity accuracy/evasion... I'd say that's a great thing to use compared to my mighty cure IIs, especially when I'm not the main healer in a party.
