You can now fight Avatars at lvl 20, but does this mean they are weaker than lvl 60 avatars? So say i got my avatars at lvl 20, then i reached lvl 60, would they be equal to the high lvl avatar quests? If i make any sense... which i dont think i do lol

you mean their strength when summoned? its identical. whether you get shiva from the original quest or the new level 20 quest, it'll still be the same shiva.

I mean is there like 2 different quests, 1 the lvl 20 quest that you have to solo and another that you gotta be high lvl but you can get a party to help you, but the avatar is alot harder?

I would certainly hope they don't expect a lvl 20 summoner to beat a level 65 avatar =P

The avatar at the 20 capped fight is also level 20, so you have to beat an even con NM, solo. In that sense, he is harder. If you beat the avatar, you get the same avatar the higher level people get, but that's it - no option for other rewards or whispers.

I believe the avatar is considered 25 or so, considering some of the abilities the avatar uses (Garuda uses Aerial Armor for example). I would think the avatar being level 20 would make the battle far easier than it really is.

I've always wondered about that too.

"Bla bla bla both you and the avatar will be lvl 20 bla bla bla"

And then they use abilities post 20?

So if your doing the mini fork quest at lvl 20 and you talk to the person beside the taru then what is the point of having the taru there? Im so confused!!

PS: Can anybody tell me the easiest to hardest list of avatars to get?

The Taru is the one who gives you the 'real' tuning fork for the 60+ battle.

Thus far I'd say Shiva is the hardest, just because of her Frost Armor effect that makes Carbuncle go owie a lot faster.

Although, I still don't have Ramuh (haven't tried him yet. Raising the gil for another set of potions.)

Apart from my first try ever on Shiva, I've beat all the avatars except Ramuh on the "first" try.

Ramuh had a bit too much good luck on me. Took me 5+ fights.

You cant judge garuda is lvl 25 since she uses group blink. She's a prime, she has access to higher level spells than your avatar's of her. The normal primes(the ones you tend to fight at 60) are level 65, the way I tested it was by gettin staff skill ups on em Thing is, they have access to the lvl 70 avatar abilities as well as some that players dont even get. So just because garuda is using group blink does not mean shes 25
                    ><;;

So whats the difference between the 'mini' and the 'real' avatar quests? If the 'real' one is harder, then why not just do the mini fork?

The real one can be done with a lvl 75 MNK practically soloing it whilst you sit there and look at the scenery (not including Fenrir)

Cause when you fight the Avatars the higher lvl way everyone in the party Wins.
                          Each person gets to chose
Items , Money (10k) or a pact with the Avatar.

                          Its also Fun
If you want a damage dealer
                          Get a MNK
                          If you wanna waste MP
                          Get a DRK

                            Hagrid ^^

the level 20 one is meant for soloing...so that even low level summoners can have access to the avatars without high level jobs. if you already have a high level job, i suggest going after the real avatar. its actually kinda fun.
