Fame required for lvl 20 fights!?

Fame 1 needed. If for any reason, you nots gettin new mini avatar quest then ..

1. you nots usin SMN as main job
2. smn job is too low
3. talkin to wrong NPC

Talk to person beside taru, with Summoner as main job of lvl 18-ish (haves read lower numbers. me was lvl 22 ats time). You will recieve Mini fork of (element).

You need level 2 fame.which is very easy to get from doing regular quests.
The one place that will give you trouble is getting Norg/Tenshodo fame for the mini fork of water,Leviathan battle in Norg.
I had level 9 fame in San D`oria,7 in Jueno,6 in Bastok and 5 in Windhurst.I got all of the mini forks with no problem but when i headed over to Norg to get the 6th and final fork,i was refused by the NPC.I checked my Tenshodo fame,done by checking the prices of rice balls at the Tenshodo store in lower jueno,they were for sale at 189 gil,which in the fame guide was level 1 fame,i headed to windhurst woods and compleated the Yagudo bead neclace repeatable quest,you trade 4 to the mithra NPC at J-3 (i think thats right,its the very top area of the map) i did this quest 7 times,i just purchased the necklaces from the AH to save time,and headed back to jueno to check the price of rice balls,which were now 169 gil,that corresponds to level 2 fame in Norg/Tenshodo.
i headed back to Norg and the NPC gave me the mini fork.
I hope this clears up the fame issue.

Instead of making a big fuss and argueing that youm shouldn't post about fame, Shout at you for posing it and not giveing you the answer after all that here the simple version

You don't need fame for the lv 20 Summons if they are not giving you quest heres why

1)Summon isn't your Main Job
2)Summon job isn't high enough lv
3)You talking to the Lv 70 Avatar NPC
4)You have done it and must wait 24 hours to retry

My friend wasn't offered the mini-fork for Leviathan, and was a lvl 20 summoner at the time. Please explain.

Well Deed, after doing the battles for myself, currently i have beaten Shiva, Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan, i found out that you only need Rank2 fame for the mini fights, and a easy way to get rank 2 fame in Norg, for Leviathan, is to do the Yagudo Bead necklace quest in Windurst. So tell your friend to do that quest about 10-12 times and he should have rank 2 fame in Norg. Tonight i'm going after him . So i hope this helps your friend, and good luck to him. :spin: :p

But something has really interested me. A lot of people have been fighting over this whole fame thing, and they say the got it at this much fame or no its this much. I'm starting to wonder maybe if its a glitch and its different for people? :confused:

yes fame is required, i still can't get Shiva because i don't have any Sandioria fame. However it is lower then level 6 because i know for sure my fame is nowhere near level 6 in either windy or bostok. I now have Ifrit, Titan and Ramuh soooooo

This past Saturday, I went after Leviathan. So I rode over to Kazham, hopped on a choco and ran to Norg. Before I went to Norg, I had done the Yagudo Bead Necklace quest in Windurst 10 times. So i go there, change my job back to my lvl 21 summoner, and talk to the person next to the Taru who gives the orginal quest. When i talk to her, she gave me that little annoying thing that says failure is inevitable blah blah blah. At this point i was pissed because i didn't want to go back to Windurst and raise fame up. So i ran over to the Fame guy and when i talked to him, my rank was lvl 1. I knew this because he said right in my face, "Who the hell are you!?". So i high-tailed it back to windurst and did the quest 10 more times.

When i arrived at Norg i ran up to the guy who tells you your fame and the message had changed to, "Hmmm...Arthas, i might have heard that name blah, blah, blah." That was Rank 2 fame. So i went to the person for the fork, and talked to her again. This time she gave me the fork. I got teleported and beat Leviathan my first try. So this is proof that only Rank 2 fame is needed to get the mini tuning forks for the avatars. So in essence i kind of answered my own question, and i hope this all helps you with any questions about the forks and fame required. If you got any questions i'd be happy to answer
