I'm going to be a smn/whm I'm wandering do they go good to gether? and in wat place do you get the SMN quest? Thanks everyone who posts here.

SMN/WHM is pretty much the only summoner job combo you see. They do fine together, don't let people tell you otherwise.

To get the summoner quest, first you must achieve a Carbuncle's Ruby. This item can be dropped from any Leech mob in the game. It's very rare so don't get discouraged after just a few leeches. Next you must be level 30 to finish this part. You go to the house of the hero in Windurst and he tells you that you must experience all the weather effects. After doing so, you will be instructed on the last part of the quest.

did u even read the faq at the top of the page? if u did then you know
you need to be level 30 to get the quest
then u need to obtain the rareass ruby
then collect 7 lights, gratz now u have carbuncle the cutest pokemon of them all.
now start questing everywhere to get lots of fame so u can get other summons and not be a total gimp
now that you have your tuning forks u can fight the avatars
now get your whitemage to lvl 60ish w/ an appriate sub and go fight them w/ 5 other ppl and hope you win, now you are free to be a summoner

they're called faq's (frequently asked questions) for a reason

edit: yes you have to be level 60ish for these fights, people will come in here and say oh, well i got it at 50 w/ xxx party, those stories are in the minority,

the only people that can be under 60 in those fights are mages, and even then a BLM really should be 60+.

They aren't easy, and people that leech the avatars are tools.

Despite what other people have said in this thread, if friends or other people offer to help you with your avatars when you're level 10, go for it. Just ignore people who call you a leech or what not; fact remains that you'll be leveling a summoner with all your avatars and (as long as you do it right) nobody in your party will care.

Having said that, do not go around begging random high leveled strangers to go fight avatars for you, because it's irritating, and nobody will help you.
