    It's wierd...
I have fond memories of of people I know trying Avatar fights with full PTs of 60-65+ people and getting totally wasted...
Guess I shouldn't confuse "experience" with knowledge of the class D;/

      So....can anyone help me? lol

I can kinda contribute I guess. I have Cure 3 at the moment and am nearly level 24, so. I guess I could cure 2 and 3 occasionally, I just assumed the tank would hold aggro pretty good.

Well at least most of the tanks I currently play with do anyway.

PuppetMaster, not to be mean or anything, but you haven't even unlocked the SMN job yet. Your only WHM 22!? Do you even have high enough fame to fight the primes? Did you also notice that no one from the Garuda server has posted on this thread?

If you can find the people to leech off of, that's fine. But you haven't even done the basic preparation to be even asking for help.

I'm level 23, nearly 24, but I've got this big urge to play this a lot lately, so SMN isn't far away, and I've almost got enough Sandoria fame to get the Shiva quest, and all my friend give me stacks of rabbit hides a lot.......so ya.

          Not far off.

...oh forget it, who are you kidding? With the time- and money-sink involved in getting the fame, getting to 30 and then actually doing one of the more annoying ADV-job quests for the job, and then getting through the fight if you can...that's as much exp as you need. It's pretty much widely known that until you get to level 70, your summons are good for blink and stoneskin, the occassional other ability, but because the class is bugged (or just plain sucks a$$) - that is all you do!

Also, going along with a level 75 is much more doable than bringing along a PT of 60's (unless you're of the same level). You actually contribute to the fight if you're a mid-level WHM, because they don't take as much damage that you need to spam cure 3 - hell, I only used Cure 2 cause of agro.

You people really need to stop criticising others about their wanting help. If you can find the help, go for it. I was lucky enough to be offered help - and everything was pretty much cake - I mean really, bring along silent oil and prism powder, and if you're with competant people, you shouldn't have a problem with getting to the cloister.

Why was this so easy for a 32 (at the time) WHM, but such a big deal for people in their 60s?

Buncie is actually pretty useful - hell, he's one of the most reliable single mob pullers in the game =)

Why does everyone insist on getting all of their summons by leeching them at level 30. I just doesn't make sense, I mean can't you just wait till Lv 60 or so. And DJ is right, you should get up to Level 60 so that you gain some experince in playing the game.**Note** a Summon that doesn't know how to play a Summoner is very shunned apon.

Oh yes very, I would imagine so anyway.

Do you know how long it takes to get to level 60? Plus I hate Whitemage, their's no way I'm investing the time or Gil into leveling it to 60.

If I can leech them at 30, why not?

I hate to tell ya, but If you hate playing WHM, then you're gonna hate playing Summoner also. You basically have the same job in a party.

You'll be a crappy WHM until level 25, when you become a crappy WHM with blinkga.

But hey, giving up a bit of healing effectiveness is a small price to pay for a Shiva blow up doll IMO.

Good luck with your leeching quest, however. You will be VERY lucky if you find a goup of strangers that are willing to take a level 30 to a cloister. You will be VERY VERY lucky if you find a group of strangers that are willing to take a level 30 to a cloister and actually are able to win the fight with you in the party. Your best bet is to get help from your friends or your LS, in which case you might want to level up a bit more so you don't cripple them.

P.S. Don't go shouting in Lower Jeuno every minute for help. Shouting doesn't help you get anything accomplished but adding your name to several people's blacklists.

With the time- and money-sink involved in getting the fame
Actually I raised the fame to get the avatar quests within a few hours in each city. Just printed up quests I found online and ran around doing a bunch, didn't have to do repeatables. Quite a time sink I mean I could have been sitting in Jeuno LFP for the 4 hours doing nothing instead...btw, getting the fame actually made money (a nice chunk) and didn't cost much if anything. The only one which is costly sort of is raising Tenshodo fame, and even then not that costly.

then actually doing one of the more annoying ADV-job quests for the job
Oh yea, hugely annoying. I mean I only ONLY got 4 of them chocoing back to Jeuno from Windurst, and got the rest going to Beaucedine to farm tigers. I want those 30 minutes back!

                      getting to 30
Yep, sure learned a ton about the game getting to 30 in a week and a half the first time. Wait, no I didn't, quite frankly didn't know much. I would assume that applies to 90% of people who bought the game and didn't play in the beta (and even for some beta players too..)

You people really need to stop criticising others about their wanting help. If you can find the help, go for it. Well, there is help, and just leeching. It is kind of sad because they are challenging encounters to a group of level 60's, less so with level 75's obviously. Its intentionally designed that way...and I don't know, I think many players feel sort of slighted at having died a few times learning the fights with level 60+ people, and eventually winning and getting to get the prime avatars. It was an accomplishment. When Suzy level 30 White Mage spams Jeuno for some high level to help them (I should say do it for them, I mean that level 30 offers jack shit even as a WHM), its the kind of thing that makes you want to puke, because it is quite frankly disgusting. More so that higher level players who will do this for low levels, but oh well. It's bad enough people get help from high levels to do missions for them etc, really takes any challenge or satisfaction out of anything. I guess for many people the end justifies the means, even if it is rather shameless and sad. Its more fun and memorable when you can say "I did that" and opposed to "I paid that level 75 jp player to solo it for me I rule".

I've said this before about 20min ago on another forum, but to reiterate, summons are designed for challenging fights for level 60's to show that they can accomplish a difficult task and get an award. They were not designed to drag 30's along so they can get an award for throwing cure II's and running away from astral flows. If it takes you 2 months to hit 60 like the rest of us so be it, the reward is worth it. If your level 30 and don't work for them you have lost an opportunity to gain a reward for a difficult task, and you probably have/will do it through the entire game, good luck with genkai 1 I'm sure HL's will do that for you too.
The beast myth: "I hear it gets better next level"

My pet has more HP right now than a level 75 galka monk >.> If only it could provoke...

/shrug, say what you will. I never begged for help from anyone, in fact, I was offered it. When it comes to getting Fenrir, I'll do that on my onw, including beating the avatars AGAIN (at least now I know of an effective strategy, having done them already). If the summoner job was designed for 60+ as some of you said, then they shouldn't allow you to open it till 30. Go bitch to Squenix, not me, though I'm sure they'll care as little as I do.

You poeple sound like a bunch of whiny children who are jealous of other people's accomplishments. Everything other than these summons, I've done in this game on my own, and help other people more often than myself - ask anyone in my LS. If you can't smile and say, "Wow, that was nice of that level 75 to offer help to that summoner, knowing she wants the job so badly, congrats!" then frankly, go screw off. 2 months to hit 60 huh? I bet you had no help, either

I think the point some are trying to make is the fact that in those situations, it's not an accomplishment at all...

but I've learned in recent days that for a lot of things in this game: "If it works, go for it."

What I'm trying to say is, if every other ADV job in this game involved this much effort to be effective, all of these people who decide to rant me would be absolute hypocrites. Heck, I laugh at the people who were dragoons they second their warriors hit 30, but have no problem ranting me - same damn thing. Help is help, nuff said.

You people really have to have other stuff that's better to do than rant someone else's job.
