      You sure?
It says on the Summoners guide that that was the location?

I'm pretty sure Valkurm is the only location that they don't drop, unfortunately.

Every leech drops it, just not very often, and you gotta be lv30 or higher

You don't have to be over 30 for one to drop.

Everyone I know on my server believes that acrophies in qufim have the highest drop rate for the ruby.

I tried killing Wadi Leeches to see if it would drop...I was there for altogether 12 hours, never leaving the area, killing nothing but wadi leeches...

I got 7 stacks of fiend blood (which got me a lil spending money), and not one ruby.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to ask for any help for this part of the quest, but looks like I have to go back to friggin qufim. ><

                  It's like Valkurm II there...

After the 7th stack, I gave up the hunt for now, need to catch up with my friends anyway...

There are a lot of places that I believe have leeches that will not drop the ruby. My personal theory is that the leeches must be of a certain level or higher, and the higher the level, the more common the drop.

                    According to the strategy guide:
                    Stickpin/Dangruf Wadi (7-9)
                    Swamp Leech/Pashhow Marshlands(13-15)
                    Wadi Leech/Dangruf Wadi(15-17)
                    Thread Leech/Ordelle's Caves(18-22)
                    Forest Leech/Jugner Forest(19-22)
                    Thread Leech/Jugner Forest(19-22)
                    Thread Leech/Pashhow Marshlands(19-22)
                    Gigas' Leech/Qufim Island(21-23)
                    Thread Leech/Valkurm Dunes (21-25)
                    Poison Leech/Maze of Shakrami (21-25)
                    Poison Leech/Buburimu Peninsula(21-25)
                    Big Leech/Rolanberry Fields(24-26)
                    Poison Leech/Ordelle's Caves(25-29)
                    Horrid Flake/Rolanberry Fields(28-30)
                    Acrophies/Qufim Island(32-34)
                    Big Leech/Rolanberry Fields(34-36)
                    Leech King/Maze of Shakrami(35-36)

I have heard that it is possible to get a ruby from the poison leeches in Buburimu Peninsula, so perhaps the cutoff is that the leech must be level 25+.

I also know that rubies can drop off of the NM leeches that spawn for the Ninja quest (level ~35).

My friend spent 23 hours straight killing valk dune leeches, over 500 of them, and no ruby. Spent about 45 minutes in Bubu and got a ruby. He then slept for about 15 hours O_o

I hunted for several hours in Qufim and Jugner Forest but nothing dropped. I went to Bu Peninsula and was in a group of 3 people and all 3 of us had a ruby within an hour....not bad at all. I say go kill Poison Leechs.

I was leveling in Qufim.. currently I'm level 29 and our 6-man party was fighting Acrophies for exp.. we had a thief in the party, which I think raises the chances of item drops. In a couple hours (maybe 20 -30 Acrophies) we got 2 Rubies.

You need to be high level to be able to level on Acrophies, but it's close to 30 anyways, so just do that. And get a thief or two in the party

If you know of any THF's that are lvl 45+, ask them to help you since they have the Treasure Hunter 2 ablility wich really increases the chance of a drop.
