A little help.

Summoner has always appealed to me. Purely for the fact that hey, I can summon some cool beast to help us.

The problem is a lot of people say it is a terrible job.. Is it really that bad? Will I be able to find a party? Will I feel that I helped the party as much as the other players did? Being useless is not what I want. Don't we all want to be important? Lol, anyway, info from experienced players (not FAQ/forum/guide readers) who have all their summons would be apreciated.

It's actually an excellent job for supporting the PT...
Being able to use things like, Blink, Haste, Elemental Spikes, Elemental Enhancement, and many other abilities is absolutely invaluable...

the problem is, you gotta get the other summons to be really good...
Carbuncle is kinda meh, if you know what I mean...
That is, of course, until he get's Petit Meteo...

You probably wanna wait til you got a high level in another job so you can do summon quests/fights before taking SMN on full force (though, you can still do pretty well with Carbuncle for a while at low level)...

Don't let other people convince you that SMN is weak overall...
I've seen a high lvl SMN's Leviathan do 800+ damage per Tail Whip to Behemoth...
I've also chatted with and PT'd with many many experience SMNs...
it's good once you get the resources...
