  • What do you guys reckon about this

I was just doing some thinking *shock* but you know how a summoner example in FFX goes aroudn to temples to pray ect to gain more power ect ect, do you guys think it would be a good thing to have summoners start off at like a grade one and the more specific quests they do (like going to temples to help and pray ect) the better they get so maybe the less mana their summons take yadda yadda just instead of tweaking the class *shrugs* just a thought

also i hear everyone talking about curetanking exactly how is it done ?

    anyway thankies
    In FF -

Drycha -Changing Summoner / monk (tarutaru)

    In Daoc -

Drycha Fireflower -50th druid Guinever Convicts

Dryche Shadowlilly - 50th Nightshade Guinever Convicts

Well, the game already has something along the lines of the temples... but it could tie in somehow. Maybe they could make a summon for their god they keep praising (I think its Atlanta or something like that).

Sycrab had a great idea that I really liked:

Anyway - I'm just rambling but I guess what I'm trying to say is..I think they should add some of the mini- summons from previous FF games (Slyph, Fairy,Chocobo?) that can be obtained through a "Carbuncle" type quest that can only be completed at a certain level.

For instance to obtain Fairy you need to find a...uhhh.."Pixie Wing" off of Fly type enemies (Damsflys, Crane Flys, etc.) and speak to xxx in Windurst. xxx tells you that you need to kill 50 enemies and then you can harness the power of the Pixie Wing to call Fairy. To do this quest maybe they can limit it to level 20+. That way the lower level summoners can fiddle with Carbuncle for a bit then do this quest and have Fairy and Carbuncle to play with and can tide them over for at LEAST a little bit..I know this was a bad example for a quest but I'm not that creative - I'm sure the developers could think something up.

And for cure tanking... your summon is the tank and you cure, but you usually have WARs if your in a PT to tank, then your summon just uses abilities, is called back, then you cure.

I think putting them through the hell of leveling a whole job up to 60, getting high fame in each town, and having to take on a challenging summon just to win its heart is enough. No need to incorperate god into this game to power up your summons, it could be done another way like leveling, or equipping certain items to boost their power(they already have both of those).
