Hmm yes but Mithra get hits more while Elvaans miss, so the Elvaans will be using items to boost their stats so they don't miss while a Mithra can use STR boosting items so they do more DMG... with melee it really just comes down to which you like better... But a Mithra naturally does has a lot less STR than an Elvaan. I've seen pictures of Tarutaru DRGs in AF, so if a Tarutaru can do it, then a Mithra can do it too.
