When mobs die so fast, isn't it kinda hard for THFs to manage the hate?
Which is why some of us have been chanting the mantra of "Fix the player-monster imbalance!"
The question of player-monster imbalance didn't get put before S-E during the fan festival, though there is evidence that S-E is aware of it and is working on fixing that. Nerfing two-handers is a start, but I'm sure there are other things they can do.

By dropping Samurai stats u make less people want to play it. There arent many samurai as it is.
Oh please, do you really believe that there aren't that many SAMs to begin with? SAM has been the most common melee job I've seen in parties over the past several months. I don't remember the last time I meritted without there being a SAM in the party. And while I was leveling NIN from 37 to 52 recently, I've seen a SAM in almost every party I've been in.
Lyonheart
lvl 75 WAR, 75 BST, 75 BLM, 75 NIN, 47 SCH
Cooking 100.0+3+3, Culinarian's Signboard, Raw Fish Handling, Noodle Kneading, Patissier
Fishing 60
Who said SAM was rare? I was merely pointing out that Bandwagoners are often the biggest source of nerfs.
It's not that Lyon is wrong about imbalances, but more often than not SE doesn't consider something an issue until like 50% of the population starts to abuse something (in the above example, RNG's uncapped damage)
SAM was quite popular before. But that update made all the E-peen losers start it up and driving up the prices of SAM gear > < (obviously not everyone who took up SAM during this time is bandwagoner, that's an unfair stereotype. That said, there were still a lot of them > < and some of them apparently were getting very cocky... good job assholes, you got us nerfed )
Both Lyon and Mala are in the right here. Bandwagons are started because of imbalance. It's not that...everyone jumps onto WAR and then SE nerfs it to make more people play DRK/SAM/etc it's that, one day during a pt, a THF sees a SAM spamming Gekko with Soboro, breaking 1k at least, say 30% of the time, while the THF has to do SATA to do similar damage. Then that THF jumps on SAM, then that SAM(THF) is telling his LS how awesome he is on SAM, other members jump on, and boom, the bandwagon begins, and chains outward.
About 2 weeks ago, at level...29~ or so, I was invited to a party. 4 SAM, 1 RDM and me, a RNG. That was when the bandwagon was at it's height I believe. I was still pulling hate off the SAM's a good amount, but they were spamming ws, and doing impressive damage. Even with shitty gear, and being low level.
It's all an issue of one job being amazing, or overpowered, or imbalanced, or easy to take advantage of, and that spreading to the populace. It sucks total ass, because people who really love the job, and people who play the job for more than their E-Peen get screwed over. But then a nerf like this happens, and all the e-peen bastards switch to the next overpowered job, while the true lovers of it stick with it until their job gets a boost again.
That's how I feel at least, and how things seem to work to me.
I still hold that what SE did after the 1st adjustment was just right. That said, it's damn shame that people who half ass jobs can still be great in those conditions.
There's gotta be a better way of doing things than simply nerfing the stats a bit more ; ;
I was loving being able to full-time Soboro and out dmg Hagun (with the previous 1.75 TP mods Soboro was raping in merits) and not having to even consider Sushi anymore > _ <;
I can't stand losing that because a lot of people jump onto a job and more or less get away with murder (shit gear/skill, stupid PT set ups...)
It happened with RNG, and now it's happened again (though not quite as bad) and I"m just fed up of it !!!
OK. Time to redirect this thread back into Samurai job discussion since this:
(a) Isn't the sort of question we would really ask Square-Enix in the first place.
(b) Hasn't produced much productive discussion other than some of the typical bellyaching after a nerf.

For what it's worth, Samurai are still quite functional - just not absurdly good with the otherwise stupidly low damage Soboro Sukehiro.
One of the questions we asked at the Fan Festival revolved around improvements to bring back skillchaining, and that was met by a very positive response from Square-Enix. Since Samurai are at the top of the skillchaining pyramid, I expect the job to pick up some of this reflected glory (which may explain why they've nerfed it now even though it's true Samurai weren't as out of control as 2H Great Axe Warriors).
