Muu Yi, you're still missing the point. I never made the arguement that lvl 2 is better than lvl 1. frankly it all depends on the ws you use. in my set i ran sidewinder > gulliotine for about 5 lvls for induration. it did just fine. but if you want to argue about something im not arguing about, pm away.

I apologize if this was mentioned already, but...

If you dont like building your own party, I find what also works.. is to LFP in a zone where people around your lvl commonly go to XP in parties.

Someones gotta leave, or disconnects, and can't come back.. we need DD! Oh look, theres a samurai seeking in this zone, grab him.

lately, i HAVE noticed it has suddenly gotten hard to find/build parties. i think it IS cuz everyone is playing with the new expansion.

Don't get stuck in the mindset that you need a 6 member party to get that xp. I found myself in a very similar situation, slapped war sub on and soloed in SSG at the entrance to Norg with my flag up and a warp cudgel in my pocket. An hour later I'd lvledwas building a buffer, and got an invite. This was without an empress band btw, Squeenix has made this much easier to do now with the addition of this item.

Now for the off topic: You've got 2 people in the party that can close distortion? Awesome, if your posting in this forum you should be someone who can open 2 distortion skillchains per fight. Any Sam who can't Meditate and be ready for a second skillchain needs more practice (Just make sure you have 2 different ready to start skillchain macros so you don't confuse the closers). And for the non-sams out there... Try not to both go when you see tachi: w/e...

The reason people prefer lvl 2 skillchains to lvl 1 is the same reason they prefer lvl 3 to lvl 2.... They do hit harder, the weaponskills involved hit harder, they provide more options for MB'ing. People prefer Distortion overall.... why? because blizzard & water (not to mention freeze) and the associated tier spells for a lot of blm career are the strongest spells, and for many xp mobs one of those 2 is it's elemental weakness
