Minimum lvl to Self-SC?

hello!

i just got my taru SAM to 30, and tried to do self-sc (enpi-enpi for distoration), but can't seem to do it...

i've watched a video by Delequiox, and i have been trying to do it thru this method:

1. get TP to 80-100%
2. meditate and let TP go up by 1 tic
3. before the 2nd tic, loose the first WS
4. when TP reaches 100%, go for the second one..

but i've met with failures so far... which lead me to believe if i was too low lv to do Self-SC

anyone has any comments?

I havn't really tried that meditate one, but my level 5 sam can self SC with the sam 2 hour x.x.

you need a lot of luck and it too me sometime to get it. the big thing is hitting it at 80% and then doing sc right away make sure there is no delay in the ws macro. the other thing is while after first ws it takes a min to charge and you get one hit in te mean time, if ya miss then its ruined and if you hit meditate after 80% you may not have enough unless your store tp trait is really high.

Yeah, Enpi to Enpi is Distortion.

You can start doing it the moment you get meditate, but then that requires tons of luck.

Usually you'll need haste and great timing. Also probably any +TP store and enhancement to your JA (I think SAM get this in their AF?) and as well as food.

My friend did this with himself before in regular exp PT in Bibiki Bay. He'd create a level 2 just so I can end it and create level 3... orz.

Tachi: Kagero -> Tachi: Koki (Fusion) -> Spinning Slash (Fragmentation) -> Light

It wasn't consistent, but the fact that you could do this with a SAM...

That's all right

it also helps to time not only the Meditate tick, but try to take a nomal swing right after the first WS too

or if you're fortunate enough to get a Soboro, you don't have to do all that timing because you're almost sure to have enough TP if you double attack, you could even make 2 SC's off one Meditate with it

Depends on the delay of the GKT you are using as well.
I think double attack has to prock in order to self-SC anymore though.

Not sure how the new +TP equips affect this.

Try subbing Dragoon, and throw in a Jump after you perform the first Weaponskill, you should get 12% TP or so back from it, and that'll help Meditate to get you back to 100% fast enough that you can self-skillchain.

Muu Yi is right. having drg sub helps alot. but it still is tricky and requires practice.

if you have rng lvld to 30 atleast it will get much easier when you get 60 for barrage. and at 70 you get high jump with drg sub.

right now the problem is i can't regain TP fast enough for the second WS to make a chain...

maybe at my level the TP gain is too low to be effective self-sc

Probably. That's why in my post, I mentioned that the AF piece that helps with TP gain may have something to do with this. I was just taking my experience from playing with my SAM friend in our mid-60s to show you how it was being done (Yes, he pulled it off and I believe he subbed WAR) I think subbing RNG for Barrage might work, but Barrage's timer is on the long side, so you can't self SC every fight...

Oh yeah, since Fusion is devastating on Gobs in Bibiki Bay, it boosted the SC damage from Light and helped immensely with the RDM and BLM MB (I think the mob would die 1/3 ~ 1/2 hp in unless the MB gets 1/2 resisted)

Simple.

Sub-Ranger

Low Delay Bow

Build 100 TP > Sharpshot > Barrage > Weaponskill > Ranged Attack(with barrage active will give around 50-60TP+) > Weaponskill > Skillchain :D

or if your not level 60.

Punch > enpi ? I don't know, I know my friend did it in Valk. he said it was affective.

Can't really affectivly self-renkei till 70-75 with merits and JSE

Say you have 100% TP, you change your WS macro to Meditate, wait 1, then Tachi: Enpi. If you time everything up right, Meditate will be doing it's job, and before the Skillchain window is closed, you should have TP to fire off another. Right?

I tried this a few nights ago, just after I got Meditate. I honestly didn't know it "generates" TP. I thought it was "BAM! Hey, I have TP! WOO~HOO!" What I did was Meditate macro, Tachi: Enpi macro, but the wait in my Enpi macro was enough to give me 135TP for my 1st Enpi and not enough for the 2nd one. So it didn't work. Perhaps with Store TP stuff, and SAM AF head you can pull this off, but I think you'd need to get pretty luck to pull it off at Lv.30.

You can also do this with /rng which is more impressive imo ;o

100 TP > Sharpshot > Barrage > Meditate > Weaponskill > Switch weapon to Polearm > Ranged Attack (with Barrage) > Weaponskill > skillchain

With the Ranger update tho, it might be tough to land all the Ranged Attacks in Barrage.

I've seen it done at 30, the guy involved made it look effortless but it does take both skill and timing.

with a standard 450 delay GKT build to over 100% tp

(here's the tricky bit)

after hitting the mob wait 6.5 seconds then
/ja "Meditate" <me>
/wait 1
/ws "Tachi: Enpi" <t>

If you have timed it right immediately after enpi you will hit the mob, from there open your WS menu and spam that enpi like crazy.

Like I said, the timing is awfully tricky and I've only pulled it off once myself, but with this method it's possible to self-sc with any sub post 30.
