KiryuKagemitsu v.s Daihannya

Well, I'm creeping up to 60 now with sam, currently 56 and I have the new Koriyukagemitsu (67dmg 450delay str+1 acc+2) and I'm debating on whether at 60 I should upgrade to the Daihannya (72dmg 450delay str+3) @ 60 because of the 75% str modifier on yuki. I'm subbing thf now (finally got it to 30 last night ) and was wondering if anyone had an opinion or solid facts as to which would perform better with SATA+Yuki. I love the acc+ of the Koriyu, not to mention how jealous every sam post50 gets when they see it, but I want my ws's to do max dmg possible after 60 and think the slight dmg increase, and the 2 more str would prolly make my yuki a fair amount more powerful with Daihannya. Any advice is appreciated.

Daihannya hands down is best choice once you hit 59. While Koryukagemitsu is an awsome GKT without question, the sheer D on Daihannya will make your overall damage average higher and the additional STR is always welcomed since you will ( as you stated ) soon have Yukikaze.

SATA'd Yukikaze will really boost your ego when you see your WS damage difference from previous levels. This said however, /thf sub will noticeably hurt your regular hit damage and eliminate your double attack. Not trying to detour you from using thief sub, just giving you a heads up on what you will notice. If your PT is setup so that one renkei pretty much defeats an enemy, then thief sub is not only fine, but really good. If fights are long and rely more on damage over time, WAR sub may still be your best option.

But yeah deffinitely get Daihannya if you can.

Yeah, I know my DoT will drop down but I static with another sam so what we're planning is having him open the SC since he's subbing /war, then me closing with SA+enpi til 60. Reasoning behind this is because from what i understand the SC dmg is a direct reflection of the closing ws's dmg. So from this point forth, either he or I will be subbing /thf and other will sub /war. The reason for this is 2 fold also because post60 whoever is subbing war will be the trick partner for /thf.

Also, since I have Nodachi's attention and his was the opinion I was hopin' for anyway =D, What about food? I static with a brd and @ this point we get Blade Madrigal and Minuet, if we're fighting a mob that is hard to hit she gives us double madrigal. Now, Im using squid sushi exclusively now, but after AF gloves and with a brd static, i'm really hoping Im going to be able to use Tonosama rice balls instead from this point forth to A: Boost my DoT because of thf sub, and B: cheaper than sushi. Now, I'm hoping to maybe have 2 snipers to balance this somewhat, but is it feasible to actually use riceballs or is sushi still required?

As for getting the Daihannya or not ... I guess it depends. If you can afford it (about 2M on Garuda) I fully recommend getting it since you definitely notice the damage increase compared to a Jindachi +1 / Koryu. If you don't want to spend that much money, you can just get the Jinda (+1) until you reach 61 for Zanbato.

Food choice .... personally, I'm a fan of Double Minuet + sushi.

I agree entirely. If other melee request blade madrigal though you can really be flexible with your food choices. I'd say, if your bard plays blade madrigal and you sub war, eat sushi or tonosama riceballs. If you sub thief, eat attack food. If you're a baller Red Curry is amazing, but i would never really use it in exp lol. Good ol bison steak or mithkababs are fine for attack food. Riceballs are great, it's just that with thief sub the +double attack from the riceball isn't very noticeable or worth it really. But feel free to test and see what you like most, this is just my recomendation from memory.

"hmm my brother plays sam and he got the daihannya and he said it sucked <.<" Sounds to me like someone wanted an excuse to sell it back. Daihannya is an amazing weapon and can/should be used up till about 67.

Zanbato, as cool as it looks (to me anyway) isn't really a good option compared to Daihannya unless you can manage to get the HQ version.

I say ride Daihannya till Kazaridachi (67). And if you can somehow find/afford a Kazaridachi +1, it's amazing.
