Have any of you tried out a Sukesada in EXP at its lvl? That always seemed like a pretty nice GKT to me o_o;;

BTW LadyPeorth... I'm going to say Koryukagemitsu is the best GKT available at 50.

I agree Kouryukagemitsu is probably best. Soboro Sukehiro may be really good DoT at 50 i'm not sure, but the weapon skill damage will be a lot weaker.

And yeah I used Sukesada quite a bit but looking back I'm not sure I should have. With WAR sub I can see it being used more but now I would probably lean towards a higher D GKT, for thief sub especially.

Yeah, seems like the best choice to go with when subbing THF (Higher DMG GKT that is, probably Daihannya). Thanks for the input Nodachi ^~^; Currently releveling my taru all over again since I had the urge to play again, the highest I got to was 55 sam on my first character. Right now I'm lvl 10 MNK (Taru) And I'm starting to wonder if I should play a more fulfiling race stat wise, although I know the differences aren't life or death end game, either way its just been something on my mind I need to decide on before I get to far into lvling ;p Any input would be appreciated.

I've seen pics of Taru SAM's damage on HNMs and it's really not far off from other races to be honest. If you parser DoT you'll notice other races tend to average a bit more damage but on the same hand Mithra and Taru average slightly better crit rate, so it kind of pans out. So just play what you would enjoy most is what I'd say.

Really no race difference is do or die, at least not in end game. But if you want the optimum, absolute best stats possible for the job, Taru won't be it.

I am currently level 32 SAM and I think I need to change my underwear after seeing your GK collection. Its very hard to get a good GK at my level but right now im using Kanesada cause of the lesser delay. Thanks for the links to obtain other GK.

Sure, I'll give the basics for each, if someone needs real detail in earning them just let me know.

Ushikirimaru: Dropped off of the NM in the Shrine of Ru'Avitau (sp?. Located at the two northern entrances of sky (Genbu/Byakko islands). He's also the guy who drops one half of the triggers needed for genbu, so HNM LS kill him fairly frequently. Drop rate is low, but if you don't have a LS, you may be able to bum it off other LSs who no longer need it.

Shinsoku: A drop from any of the three BC99s (I can only confirm Behemoth one, but am told all three can now drop it). It's also purchaseable from other players.

Daihannya: One of the few items that drops off of two seperate NMs in this game. Keeper Of Halidom, located in the hidden portion of Sanctuary of Zi'Tah's map (north east section). Drop rate is extremely low on the Keeper, but is an easier fight which many 70 + can solo on their own. Also drops off of Ancient Goobbue inside Boyahda. Recomended you have a good NIN and a good BRD to handle it as it activates MNK two hour, one hundred fists multiple times throughout the fight. Can be duo'd with that setup, recomended more for saftey. Droprate is still low but much higher for Ancient than Keeper.

Hardwood Katana: It was an event quest Hopefully they'll run it again for others to get it.

Kamewari: Drop off of the scorpion Amikiri in Gustav Tunnel. Amikiri is a place holder pop off of the other scorpions near the same area where Unguar can pop. Again it's recomended that you use NIN tanks for this NM as his attacks are fairly mean. A tougher fight than some mentioned above. Kamewari is perhaps one of those best kept secrets in some situations. A great situational GKT but gets outshined by the end game options.

Sukesada: Honestly this GKT is no longer a great option for Samurai with Daihannya and Soboro Sukehiro able to be used at this level, but it has its perks. Located in the lower levels of Bostaunieux Oubliette. Drops off of a dog NM named Shii. It's a place holder pop, meaning you have to kill the other two dogs in the area for it to pop. Don't remember the cooldown time from when it dies.

Koryukagemitsu: Drops off two ENMs. Both from Beloved of the Atlantes and Bugard in the Clouds. Can also be purchased from players.

Soboro Sukehiro: One of the best GKTs SE has given Samurai. This thing is great in nearly all EXP PTs starting from level 50 and arguably until end game in some situations, as goofy as that may sound. Drops off of a NM named Unstable Cluster. It's a cluster of three bombs in Riverne Site B. The bombs arn't very tough to kill, but annoying with some devistating AOEs. Jobs which can stun are very welcomed in this this fight.

I'm not a sam and I've never read anything about sams but I have really enjoyed all that chating about katanas. I think I'll level someday a sam just to get all those weapons :D

I love samurai animes ;P But never thought about playing one until recently

i started sam a while ago and quit to play thf and now that my thf is 38 and im back to sam i wish i had never left its such a fun job all the WS a man could ask for and a kick ass sword. im glad i got thf up tho to sub with its cause after 30 sneak attack with ws rules.

My GKT collection:

- Hagun
- Onimaru
- Kamewari
- Ushikimaru
- Soboro Sukeheiro
- Hardwoord katana


Only Great katana's I use:

-Soboro for soloing.
-Ushikimaru or onimaru for initial 300tp weaponskill on HNM.
-Hagun for everything else.

Only great katana I want besides these is Mischiba perhaps... Thing looks cool.
